Designer Gayane Hayrapetyan told what styles are most suitable for interior decoration of a small apartment.
5. Contemporary
The boundaries of this style are quite blurred. First of all, contemporary reflects the novelties and trends of the present day and serves to create a comfortable and ergonomic space for living.
Within the framework of this style, space zoning and the use of modular structures are allowed, which is very suitable for small-sized housing. To avoid monotony, the calm background of the walls and floor can be diluted with rich accents - for example, a picture or a bright lampshade.
4. Scandinavian style
This style has long won the hearts of people. You, for sure, have seen its performance on the pages of IKEA catalogs more than once. Its lightness and airiness will not make the space of a small apartment heavier. A characteristic feature of scandi is the decoration of the walls and floors in neutral light colors.
It does not pretend to be varied in furniture or sophisticated decor. To refresh it, it is enough to add textiles. When building a Scandinavian interior, pay attention to natural textures, in particular, wood.
3. Minimalism
Minimalism with its spatial freedom is definitely worth considering for owners of small apartments. Restraint and rigor in details and pieces of furniture will allow you to breathe more air into the apartment and avoid unnecessary clutter.
In the iconic minimalist interior, furniture occupies only about 20% of the space.
The main principles of this style are functionality, tightness of forms and the use of two colors as a base. Closed storage systems and built-in appliances, which are also in use in minimalism, will help to organize order.
2. Eco style
Especially gaining popularity in recent years in the wake of global concern and an appeal to the topic of ecology. The use of natural materials as well as the inclusion of plants will revitalize the compact space.
In addition, eco does not encourage excess furniture and decor, which is also important for shaping the interior in a small apartment. Moderation is encouraged in it.

Despite the fact that many represent the loft style in art spaces located, for example, in the buildings of former factories, today it is often used to decorate small apartments. The rules of this genre allow you to "carelessly" treat the plating of pipes and other elements that other styles advise to hide. This will save additional space.
