Paint is the most versatile material. With its help, you can transform any interior, changing it beyond recognition. Color is what sets the rhythm and becomes one of the key points in the aesthetic concept of any project.

How to use paint wisely to create a strong base for your interior? Designer Alena Bolshakova talked about 5 strategies for using the material, with which you can easily transform a house or apartment.

5. Use white

Everything ingenious is simple: we paint all surfaces white! But don't forget about a million shades of white. By using various halftones, you will significantly deepen the interior.

Thus, the space will turn into a canvas and you will allow yourself a million other shades in furniture, textiles, and accessories.

White will make any space cleaner, lighter and more airy.

4. A bright base is not a taboo

The next approach is the same in principle, but instead of white, we use any other color as a base. Any of those that you like the most - from pastels to brighter ones.

But in this case, you will not be able to play around as freely as in the first case with catchy shades in furniture and decor.

Keep in mind that with the further construction of the interior, you will have to look around all the time and take into account the main color of the room.

3. Make bright accents

If using a saturated shade as a base is still intimidating, proceed more carefully and more precisely. Highlight a section of the wall or the entire wall with an accent color, depending on the layout.

Do not limit yourself - you can also emphasize the ceiling with color. The main thing is to choose the shade correctly, taking into account the entire environment, so as not to visually lower it lower.

When the base is only partially bright, you will be more free to color the rest of the interior elements.

2. Combine color and geometry

When finishing, you can go further and use complex color combinations. Geometry will help us with this. We divide the walls into a third, in half, into quarters, into triangles, into squares or circles and paint all this geometry in different shades and colors!

The most important thing is to take into account the compatibility of shades and not overdo it with the number of motley shapes and lines.

In addition, it is necessary to select the dimensions of the geometric elements based on the parameters of the room.

1. You can paint not only walls

Implement a tone-on-tone interior design. For example, you have highlighted one of the walls with a more saturated color - do not be afraid to go further. Paint the door in the same color, switches located in the same plane, pick up a picture where the same shade acts as the dominant one.

This will achieve greater integrity and unity in the interior.

Following this strategy, some objects can be performed not in identical, but in adjacent - more or less saturated - colors.
