Plastic bottles are a truly versatile material from which hundreds of useful things can be made. In this article, I want to talk about four more devices that can be useful for a summer cottage.
1. Tool stand
From a wide board and whisks from plastic bottles, you can make a real stand for storing locksmith's tools. Such a structure is attached opposite the workbench and allows you to have everything you need at hand. The creation process will take no more than one hour, and from the tools you will only need a saw for metal, an awl and a screwdriver.
You need to cut off the whisk from the bottle in such a way that a small eyelet remains. It is necessary for attaching the plastic element to the board. The design is so simple that even a schoolboy can handle it.
Since plastic bottles are not afraid of moisture, sun and frost, the tool stand can be used even outdoors. For example, next to the workbench where you work all day. However, do not forget to put the tool in the barn in the evening.
2. Bird feeders
Feeders for feathered neighbors can be made from almost any plastic container. Perhaps the products will not look very presentable, but they will fully fulfill their main function. Dense, opaque bottles of bleach and various household chemicals are best suited for these purposes.
It is best to cut plastic with a hot knife. First, it's pretty simple. Secondly, the edges of the cuts are less sharp. You can heat the tool over a gas stove or with a lighter.
When creating a feeder, pay attention to the fact that the sides are not very high. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the birds to reach the feed. Try to blunt or tape the sharp edges. Get creative with the process.
3. Hanging bed
Bulky plastic bottles are suitable for creating small hanging beds. For example, you can plant mint, basil and some onions by the window in a summer kitchen. Greenery will not only fill the room with a pleasant aroma, but will always be at hand.
The bottles can be used both as hanging planters and as pots. In any case, drainage holes must be provided in the container.
Despite the fact that the bed is made from recycled materials, it can look very neat. To do this, you need to take the same bottles and think over the design features in advance.
4. Wire reel
If you have electrical tools on your farm, the following homemade product from a five-liter rectangular canister will be useful to you. The product is a mechanical reel for an extension cord. Unlike previous devices, it will not be so easy to make.
In general terms, the coil is assembled as follows. Holes with a diameter of about 8 cm are made in the walls of the canister, into which a piece of plastic pipe is inserted. On one side, a plug with a metal handle is installed into the pipe, and on the other, an extension cord outlet is displayed. A cord with a plug is passed through the hole in the lid in advance. The product is ready for use.
