Making a fence for a flower bed with your own hands is not as easy as it might seem at first glance. This will take not only time, but also a certain skill. If you are ready to work hard, here are five fence options that are definitely worthy of attention.

1. Of metal sheets

With the proper skills, fences for flower beds can be made from metal sheets fastened together with rivets. The structure rests on a profile pipe driven deep into the ground. The fence forms a solid shape that can be filled to the brim with soil. Several drainage holes can be drilled to drain excess moisture in the metal.

Fences are not afraid of the vagaries of the weather and accidental damage. You can safely put a board on them, which will serve as a support during work. A flower bed fenced in this way will not erode even after strong spring floods.

The disadvantage of such fences is the high cost of creation, sharp edges and the need for regular touch-up. However, the latter problem can be solved by choosing a stainless metal.

2. From scraps of timber

A fairly practical fence can be made from scraps of timber from 5 to 10 cm wide. To make the wood last as long as possible, it should be impregnated with stain. This will save the structure from rot and harmful insects. The idea will be a real boon for those who are building a house, shed or bathhouse. The remains of building materials can now be used not only for kindling the furnace, but also for decorating the summer cottage.

You can always put a bucket on such a fence or lean on it while working. Natural wood will look great with any composition and culture.

To make the fence even, the bars should be fastened together in any convenient way. For example, this can be done with a board on the back of the fence.

3. Of bricks

From old well-preserved bricks, you can lay out a neat fence for a small flower bed. In this case, the fence will play an exclusively decorative role. To prevent the structure from tilting over time, the bricks laid in the groove should be filled with cement mortar.

Such a fence has no expiration date. Over time, the bricks will become covered with a green coating, but it can be easily cleaned off with a drill with a brush.

To create a fence, you need to take only whole bricks without cracks and potholes. Damaged specimens crumble over time, causing many problems.

4. From cinder blocks

Cinder blocks are suitable not only for the construction of fences, but also for creating a kind of alpine slide. The voids located in this building stone allow miniature crops to be planted in them. The result is a great combination of bright colors and gray concrete. The most popular structures are the ruined wall and the blooming pyramid.

If the height of the structure does not exceed three elements, there is no need to fasten the blocks together. It is enough to fill the voids with earth or sand. Drainage holes are made with an ordinary concrete drill.

5. From terracotta pipes

Terracotta pipes will be an excellent material for creating fences. You can buy them in large construction or gardening stores. The products are placed close to each other in a three-centimeter layer of cement mortar. The cavities are filled with fertile soil for further planting of flower crops.

The main disadvantage of such a fence is fragility. Potholes will remain from the fall of buckets and shovels.
