Liquid fertilizers have long been popular among gardeners. They are easy to prepare, completely natural and require no financial investment. There are many different recipes, but they all have one thing in common. Before use, the infusion or broth must be filtered through a colander. Unfortunately, the latter may not always be at hand. There is a simple way out for this case. The filter can be made from a bottle with a volume of one and a half or two liters. The form does not matter.

Step 1. Cutting the bottle

First, we need to take a plastic bottle and cut off the neck of it. The larger the container, the faster the filtration process will take place. It is better to tear off the label from the bottle.

In order not to cut yourself on sharp edges in the future, the cut site must be sanded or scorched with a lighter. Do not keep the fire for a long time, otherwise the bottle will begin to deform.

Step 2. Drilling holes

Now we need to drill several dozen holes in the bottom of the bottle. So that during the process the bottle does not wrinkle and does not jump out of the hands, it should be put on a piece of timber.

The holes can be made with a wood drill or burned with a hot nail. In the second case, you will need pliers, a nail and a lighter.

The holes should be located along the entire bottom of the bottle. That is, both on the bottom and on the walls.

Step 3. We fasten the mount

After the bottle looks like a colander, you need to make a mount for it. For this we need a block, a piece of plywood and a couple of self-tapping screws.

The mount is screwed onto two self-tapping screws located at the top of the bottle. To put the filter on the bucket more conveniently, a small distance must be left between the bar and the wall. This can be done with a piece of plywood spacer. The latter can be replaced with washers or nuts.

One of the ends of the bar can be sawn off obliquely. In this case, you do not have to bend the mount when installing the filter on the bucket.

That's all, our filter is ready. It took no more than 20 minutes to create, taking into account the search for tools.

Step 4. Installing the filter

To strain the liquid fertilizer, just put the filter on the side of the bucket. If the fixture becomes very quickly clogged with grass and solid residues, you need to make several more rows of holes above the existing ones. The thicker the fertilizer, the larger and higher the holes should be.
