Looking through my personal photo archive on plumbing, I came across photos on the topic of attaching the toilet to the floor. Usually, when installing a white friend, a special bolt-screw is used that is installed in a concrete floor, in a previously marked place. And already through it, the toilet is attached.
How the "white friend" is usually installed
We put a new toilet where it should be. Marked with a pencil, a hole in the tile. They removed the toilet, drilled a hole with a puncher. Dowels were inserted. They put the toilet back in place. The screws were fastened. Pulling as expected. And voila, the toilet is worth it.
But, there are situations when it is impossible or undesirable to "perforate" floors with tiles. This happens if the toilet has warm floors. Or somewhere there are water supply pipes, walled up in a screed, but no one knows their exact location. Also, if you fix the toilet on freshly laid tiles, it is fraught with loosening of the latter.
What to do? In this case?
In this situation, a plumbing sealant comes to the rescue. Choose a sealant that contains "anti-mold" additives. It is important.
How to fix the toilet with sealant?
Mark the place where the "white friend" should stand. Raise the toilet by a centimeter, using thin pads. I use pencil pieces quite often when I don't have anything at hand.
In this gap, fill the sealant with a thin layer using a pistol. It is important that the tiles and toilet are dry and clean. It is advisable to wipe the place of application of the sealant with a solvent.
After applying the sealant, remove the linings, lower the toilet to the floor. We remove the excess sealant beautifully, that is, we make a beautiful seam.
Pay attention to the hole for the mounting bolts, they need to be covered with sealant and caps installed in them. So that the water does not get there and does not start to smell (smell)
After all the operations, you must not touch the toilet for 4-6 hours. And complete hardening occurs in a day. After that, you can use the bathroom as your heart desires. Sealant attachment, very strong. It is almost impossible to loosen such a toilet.
