A real plumber explains how a water heater works

This is a storage water heater, in which the water is heated with the help of electricity and we can use warm or hot water to delight our body. It is placed in private houses or in apartments at the time of turning off the warm water.

Everyone saw how they look from the outside. But now my small task is to show what processes are taking place inside. The cut tank looks like this:

Water flows into this container under pressure through a short tube. Why through a short one, it will be clear at the end of the techno narration.

Water, having filled the entire container, comes into contact with electric TEN:

The liquid is heated by the release of heat from the heating element.

Further, the heated liquid, during the drawdown, is directed into a high tube.

Through it, hot water comes out of the tank.

At the moment of rest, when there is no draw-off (consumption), the water is completely warmed up inside the tank due to natural circulation. Due to the insulation of the tank body with polyurethane, it does not cool down for a long time. When the owner of the boiler uses water from the tank, the hot water is first squeezed out until the cold water comes out at all. After turning off the water, the heating process is repeated again.

The high pipe for the intake of hot water allows the TENU to be constantly under water, which does not lead to the failure of the latter.

I hope I have explained the work of the storage water heater in an accessible and clear manner. How do you like my work? Is it worth continuing? From SW. Plumber - Timofey Mikhailov
