The whole yard was dug up, dirt, noise, din. We have a "holiday" changing pipes for heating and hot water supply.
A trench with dug pipes came close to our front door.
And this is the fault of this branch to our entrance, in the photo below you can see this section marked with a circle.
Close up, it looks like this:
If a common man like my spouse looks at this, then they have a question. Why do that?
- This is an extra pipe consumption
- Extra labor-hours of welders and mechanics
- Additional resistance of the pumped liquid
Only losses are obtained.
As a result, he explained to his wife, on his fingers, what such squiggles are for: Even at school, they taught that any object expands when heated, metal pipes, respectively, too. Therefore, the pipelines are lengthened.
When heating pipes are installed, the material temperature is outside, in the range from 15 to 30 degrees. But when the installation is finished and the heating is started, the temperature of the pipes in severe frosts reaches 90 degrees. Which will inevitably lead to lengthening of straight sections. This thermal expansion needs to be put somewhere. And it goes into these curves.
In the photo, red arrows indicate the direction of expansion of the pipe. And a green circle, where the parasitic extension of the pipeline goes.
Such squiggles are a necessary measure. If Compensators do not install, this will lead to increased pipe stress and further damage. Which will inevitably create an emergency.
