Friends, hello everyone!
I found an old flower pot in the garage, which is partially broken and completely lost its appearance. what can we do with him? Many will say throw it out! But no, this is not about us. The easiest thing to throw away. Why throw it out if you can give a second life.
We thought and decided to decorate the pot with magazine sheets and roses from egg trays. And let's paint it under the old bronze.
Used for decoration:
· Actually, the old pot itself;
· Sandpaper;
· Solvent;
· PVA glue, hot glue;
· Brush;
· Glossy magazine or newspapers;
· Roses from egg trays (I will also show you how to make them);
· Acrylic paints;
· Acrylic lacquer.
Huge request, do not write in the comments that it is “easier to buy”! If you think so, buy in silence, you don't have to shout about it to the whole world! Thank you!
Step 1.
We process the plastic pot with sandpaper. This is in order to scratch it well and so that the glue firmly adheres to the plastic.
Step 2.
We wipe the pot with a solvent.
Step 3.
We take a magazine or newspapers, wrinkle the paper well and glue it with PVA glue to the pot. Leave to dry for 24 hours.
Step 4.
We dilute PVA glue with water 50 to 50 and open the pot again. This will make the paper stiffer. Leave it to dry completely.
Step 5.
Making roses from egg trays. Here's a short video on how to make them.
Roses can be replaced with other decor, such as plastic flowers or something else.
Step 6.
We paint the pot and roses with black acrylic paint.
Step 7.
When the black paint is completely dry, paint the pot and roses with bronze paint.
Step 8.
We cover everything with 2 layers of acrylic varnish.
Step 9.
Glue the roses to the pot with hot glue.
Done!
The pot got a second life. The stand was simply painted black and a little bronze.
We really like the old bronze and metal style, but if you want, you can paint the pot in other colors that you like best.
