Today I want to tell you my story of how I started doing what I loved and quit my job. With this story, I want to inspire you, and show that almost anyone with a desire and a goal can achieve it.
The last years (before leaving) I worked as a finisher, for about 13 years. At first I liked everything, and the work was interesting and the income was good. At that time, 25 - 35 thousand. rubles, when the average salary in our city (in Bishkek) was about 15 thousand. rubles.
Over time, there were more and more finishers, there was not enough work for everyone, and the prices for work began to decline sharply. And besides, I started to get tired of this work.
January 5, 2016 I created a YouTube channel "Master Sergeich". On the same day, I uploaded my first video "DIY vase from cardboard", which I shot a few days before.
I really liked the vase that I saw in Yandex pictures and decided to make my own and try to shoot a video.
After a while, my mother also became infected with the idea of a handicraft channel, and we started filming a video together. But they did not change the name of the channel.
We received the first money from the channel on April 12, 2016. It was as much as $ 22.24 This, of course, is a penny, but it was very nice!
After that it all started. We started shooting a lot of videos. Despite the fact that I worked at a construction site and my mother also worked, we managed to upload 4-5 new videos per week to the channel.
But, I did not immediately leave work, that would be extremely stupid. And only towards the end of the second year of the channel's existence, when the amount of income reached 17 - 20 thousand. rubles each. At that time, the channel was actively growing and gaining momentum. Income grew gradually but steadily.
To be honest, it was very hard these 2 years, physically and even more mentally. I came home from work and instead of beer or TV, I shot and edited video. How many times there was a desire to abandon everything, but he pulled himself together and worked on the channel further. Many more thanks to my mother, who always supported me in difficult moments, without her, probably, our channel would not exist!
This happened! At the beginning of December 2017, I quit my job and started doing only my hobby! For 2 whole weeks, or even more, I was euphoric that I no longer had to go to work every day. This is an indescribable feeling that I wish everyone to experience. But not as often happens when a person is left without work and livelihood, but consciously come to this by changing his salary to income.
After some time, our channel appeared on Yandex Air. And also I created a channel here on Zen. And of course, they also generate income.
Here's a story about how my passion for crafts changed my life and the life of my family. And I sincerely believe that any of you can repeat this path, if you wish. I was convinced of this personally when our friend also achieved good results in YouTube and Zen.
It is not necessary to do just crafts, there are hundreds of interesting topics on which you can shoot videos and write articles. By the way, when I started the YouTube channel, I was shooting with a cheap digital camera. I didn't even have a normal light for shooting.
