Just today, I made a very simple but cool home decor from ordinary wire and ping pong balls. This is a decor for a tall floor vase. It took me about 4 hours to make, maybe a little more.
For work I used:
· Soft wire 2mm thick;
· Ping-pong balls;
· Solvent;
· Liquid super glue;
· Smooth stick;
· Gold paint in a spray can.
Now let's calculate how much this decor cost me.
I bought the wire for 150 rubles. kilogram, spent about half. I bought balls last year at Aliexpress, took a package of 100 pcs. for 250 rubles. It took me 35 balls. I bought 1 can of paint for 120 rubles. Glue 10 rub.
Total: Wire-75 rubles, balls-87.5 rubles, paint-120 rubles. and glue-10 p. It turns out I spent 292 rubles.
A similar decor in our stores costs from 800 rubles. This is a normal saving.
Step 1.
He straightened the wire and cut it into pieces of 180-190 cm. Chopped 15 pieces.
Step 2.
Each piece of wire was rubbed well with a solvent to remove oil from the wire. So that then the paint is normally kept.
Step 3.
I took a straight stick (I have a shovel handle) and wound all 15 pieces in a spiral.
Step 4.
I punctured holes on both sides of the balls with a clerical knife.
By the way, why are these balls so cheap? Yes, because they are of disgusting quality, very soft and crumple with light pressure, playing tennis with such balls will definitely not work, but for crafts they are just right.
Step 5.
I put on each piece of wire a different number of balls, from 1 to 3. He put it on at different distances.
That's how I did it.
Step 6.
On one side of each ball, I added a drop of liquid super glue so that the balls did not travel along the wire.
Step 7.
I painted the decor from the spray can with gold paint.
I want to note that this is a fairly large consumption of paint, it flies by a lot. If you want to save money, it is better to paint with a sponge and acrylic paint.
