A stainless steel sink for the kitchen is the best option

This type of sink is made of stainless steel, which contains chrome (18%) and nickel (10%). It is these two chemical elements that give the material all its positive qualities and properties. Namely: resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, as well as resistance to mechanical stress. Here you can also add a spectacular appearance, which mainly depends on the proportions of chromium and nickel.

According to the production method, stainless steel sinks for the kitchen are divided into:

  • Stamped;
  • Welded.

The first type is made from a solid steel sheet. A distinctive feature - no seams, it is a one-piece construction. The production technology itself is simple, so this type is inexpensive, but very reliable. The only drawback is the impossibility of producing deep shells (no more than 15 centimeters).

In this regard, welded sinks are more convenient (photo below), although their price is slightly higher, because welding is used in the production process. For the manufacture of the whole device, the bottom and the bowl are separately made, after which the two parts are welded together, followed by grinding the seams and polishing the entire surface. This technology allows the production of sinks of any size and shape. And the quality mainly depends on the quality of the welds.

  • Stage 3. Several through holes are drilled along the inner contour, mainly at the corners of the form. For this, it is best to use a drill with a diameter of 10 millimeters.
  • Stage 4. Take a jigsaw in your hands and carefully cut the hole for the sink exactly along the contour. Then the edges of the saw cut are cleaned of sawdust and dust.

  • Stage 6 - first of all, the tabletop is installed and attached to the cabinet. Then a shell is inserted into it and pressed lightly with your hands. Experts recommend using a clamping tool such as a clamp. But if you don't have one, then you can use any heavy objects.
  • Stage 7. After the cut-in sink has stuck to the countertop, it is necessary to cut off the ends of the rubber cuff sticking out from under its edges with a knife, and remove the sealant stains with a rag. It remains only to connect the siphon and the branch pipe to the sewer pipe, as well as the water hoses.
