Good afternoon, my reader. Not always, even with the observance of all agrotechnical methods, it is possible to achieve good fruiting of vegetable crops. It is especially important to get a decent harvest of potatoes every year, which makes up a high proportion of the diet. Gardeners have the opportunity to test and evaluate the method of P. Balabanov. R., allowing one bush to grow up to 119 high-quality large tubers.

The main essence of the method

The technology has been developed based on many years of research. The well-known Russian scientist P. Balabanov conducted them. R. (1928-2010). His results were recognized and patented. The experience was successfully tested in some collective farms. For example, in the Kaluga region, the profitability of growing potatoes has increased by almost 4.4 times. In the Urals, up to 800 kg of tubers were obtained from each hundred square meters.

The method is based on the morphological feature of developing potato bushes, noted by Peter Romanovich. He noticed that stolons are formed in the soil layer on underground shoots, on which the formation of tubers depends. At the same time, the green parts of the stems are not involved in this process.

Considering such characteristics of culture, Balabanov P. concluded that the size of the future harvest is directly proportional to the length of the underground whitish parts of the potato stalk. It is on this feature that a unique method is based, which is worth considering in detail.

The soil

The selection of nutritious soil has a significant effect on the fruiting of potatoes. It should have a loose structure and a slightly acidic reaction (average pH 5.5-5.8).

In order to preserve fertility, it is recommended to sow green manure in autumn and spring. They are cut off after the shoots regrow. Leave the grass on the surface of the site. Balabanov P. did not use other fertilizers, especially mineral complexes.

Varieties

The author of the method recommended cultivating such potato varieties as Sineglazka and Lorkh. He noted the good characteristics of the Reserve, Beloyarsky early, Agria. He spoke positively about the Fairy Tale, Lugovsky, Good Luck.

At the same time, Pyotr Romanovich advised planting other varieties, conducting experiments, which helps to select the most suitable varieties for a particular site.

Preparatory stage

Tubers for planting are selected healthy, of high quality, without damage and signs of disease. They must be large enough (weighing at least 100 g).

Be sure to warm up the planting material. You cannot use tubers that have just been removed from the cellar or basement, since it is difficult to achieve high-quality development from them.

Seed potatoes are also decontaminated to protect against possible diseases. They put it in a net and immerse it in a disinfectant solution for 10-15 minutes. To prepare it, you will need 10 liters of water. Dissolve with stirring in it for 1 tsp. l. crystalline boric acid, copper sulfate and potassium permanganate. Then the tubers are scattered on a film and powdered with wood ash, which is pre-sieved.

Landing

In autumn, according to the method of P. the site is discarded in two opposite directions. The processing depth is 5-10 cm. Ridges are formed from the upper soil layer on a flat area to a height of 15 cm, leaving a gap of 140 cm between them. On the slopes, this operation is carried out in the spring.

Before landing, depending on the prevailing weather, a transformation is carried out. If a dry summer is expected, then the tubers should be planted in the aisles. In wet weather - in the ridges. The soil is not dug, but loosened up to 10 cm with a pitchfork without turning the layers. An interval of 35-40 cm is left in the rows between the tubers.

Landing is carried out when the soil warms up to 8-10 degrees at a depth of about 10 cm. They don't dig holes. A shovel is inserted into the comb on half a bayonet and deflected. Spread the tuber into the hole that appears. When the shovel is removed, an average five-centimeter layer of soil remains on top.

Care

The main condition for the unique method of Balabanov P. R. consists in carrying out hilling to a height of 5.5-6 cm of planted potatoes even before the emergence of shoots. This works for the formation of underground shoots. The first procedure is performed 5 days after planting. Repeat twice more with an interval of 6-7 days. After that, experienced gardeners recommend covering the ridges with a layer of cut grass or chopped straw. The appearance of numerous stolons in the soil layer guarantees a high yield.

Watering potato plantings is required if the summer is not rainy. This procedure is practiced at intervals of 30 days.

When growing potatoes in your own garden, it is worth allocating a part of the plot with suitable soil for testing the method of Peter Romanovich Balabanov. If fairly simple technological methods are observed, it will be possible to increase the yield.
