For the gardener, there are several options for sowing carrots. Here is some of them:

  • Pouch and sand. Can be planted dry or wet. In the first case, the carrots will hatch after the first rain, in the second, the seeds are placed in moist soil. Water crops regularly with standing water or rainwater. Soak the seeds for 1-2 days before planting. You can soak them in a solution of potassium permanganate so that the crop does not get sick.
  • To help the seeds germinate faster, plant them in a linen bag while the snow has not yet melted. Dig a small hole after moistening the seeds with water and placing them in a cotton bag or cloth. Next, dig in the seeds with soil and snow. This will create ideal conditions for growth, and after a week, the carrots can be planted in a permanent place. Before doing this, feed the soil with organic fertilizers: manure, compost or wood ash. Mix the seeds with sand and sow evenly into the furrow. To help the crop grow faster, cover the planting with film.

  • Sowing carrots with sand. Take 10 kg of thoroughly dried sand for 20-30 grams of seeds. Stir and pour into prepared furrows. Water abundantly and cover with earth. This planting option will give even germination and you will save your breakout time.
  • Another good planting carrots - mix it with another crop. For example, radish. These seeds can grow together without overwhelming each other. First you need to mix the seeds together. It is better to do this in a small container, such as a half-liter jar. Add dry sand. Next, the mixture should be poured into the furrow and watered. Radishes will rise faster and carrots later. There will be no need to waste time and effort breaking through the carrots, since the radish can be uprooted and eaten. When pulling out radish roots, excess carrot sprouts will be removed.
  • Another way to plant carrots is placing seeds in water. Mix the seeds with water, then simply scatter around the area. So you will avoid strict rows, and the carrots will be sown chaotically mixed with other crops. This method is used by many advanced gardeners.
  • Some summer residents love sow carrots and onions at the same time. It looks like this: first a carrot is sown, and then an onion is sown in the same furrow. Planting together will make it possible not only to avoid bursting carrots, but also to protect against infections. Carrot and onion flies will not harm the crop either.
These original methods of sowing will protect your back from unnecessary stress, and the harvest from diseases!
