We live in a time when the main phone number, to which bank cards are linked, email, social networks and others important services should in no case be communicated to strangers, and even more so should not be used on sites when publishing ads.

For these purposes, it is worth getting another SIM card (or maybe not one) with a tariff without a monthly fee (yes, all operators still have such cards). At such tariffs, as a rule, extortionate prices for mobile Internet, for example, in the Megafon "per second" tariff, 1 megabyte costs 10 rubles 10 kopecks.

It would seem that it's okay, because the number is used only for calls and the Internet is not needed, but if the SIM card is installed in the smartphone, sooner or later a situation will arise when the consumption of mobile traffic begins and the bill for it will go to hundreds or even thousands rubles.

This is exactly what happened to me - the SIM card was in the smartphone, Wi-Fi was connected, but by mistake, somehow, the mobile data transfer was turned on. Somehow, in half a day, the smartphone downloaded 39 MB, which is quite a bit, but Megafon took 389 rubles for it. The next day I downloaded a little more and when I realized it, the account was 439 rubles less than it was.

All operators can turn off the "Mobile Internet" service. After disabling it, mobile traffic will not be consumed regardless of the phone settings.

It turned out that it is impossible to turn off the mobile Internet in Megafon's personal account and through support, but there is a miraculous command:

*105*4*4*222#

After entering it, the USSD menu for connecting / disconnecting the mobile Internet will appear. You will need to answer first 2 to disconnect and then 1 to confirm.

For MTS, the mobile Internet is disabled in the personal account.

Other operators also have ways to disable it (if they are not in your personal account, you can ask support).

P.S. I was lucky, I was able to convince Megafon to return my 439 rubles spent on unnecessary mobile traffic. Just in case, I will give a conversation with the support operator in the chat on the site:
