The more heat radiators emit, the higher the room temperature readings. When choosing elements of a heating system, do not forget to look at what kind of heat transfer they have.
Naturally, many people miss this moment and buy the first available radiators. And then it turns out that their heat transfer is insufficient. It's a shame, annoying, but okay! There are several simple solutions to this problem.
I will share with you simple and inexpensive, but effective ways to increase the heat transfer of heating elements.
1. We provide air circulation to batteries
I personally had to face a similar problem. Through trial and error, I came to the conclusion that many ordinary factors affect the low heat transfer of batteries, for example, too thick curtains or decorative shields.
Why do people hide batteries behind curtains or shields? Everything is simple so that they do not spoil the general appearance of the room. But because of this, heat transfer suffers, since the heaters cannot give off a sufficient amount of heated air.
By analogy, air circulation is disturbed by wide window sills. Sometimes the batteries are hidden in special niches, in such a case there is no need to expect high heat transfer from them.
So the question arises, what is more important to you: so that the room is beautiful or warm. If the first outweighs, then you can close the batteries with curtains, hide them in niches, etc. Well, if you do not want to freeze in your own apartment, then it is better to leave the radiators in plain sight. There is nothing wrong with that, but you don’t have to wrap yourself up in "a hundred clothes" in order to somehow warm up in winter.
2. We observe indents when installing batteries
What Russian person reads the instructions before starting to do something? That's right, almost none! Usually we look for instructions even when something breaks. So, if you take the manual for the installation and operation of batteries, the existence of which many people forget, you can see the paragraph on indents there. It turns out that when installing radiators, you need to observe certain indents from the walls, floor and window sill.
The distance from the wall to the battery must be at least 50 millimeters. Thanks to this, air flows will freely enter the radiator compartments, heat up there and return to the room. Similar indents must be observed from the heating element to the window sill and floor.
In the case of wide window sills, the indentation needs to be made larger by lowering the radiator. If the window sill protrudes by 1 centimeter, then lower the battery by 2.5 centimeters, if by 2 cm, then by 5 cm, etc.
3. Reflecting heat with foil
By installing foil screens, you can significantly increase the heat transfer of the heating system. The foil acts as a barrier, separating the warm battery from the cold wall.
Make such screens and soon you will notice that the room has become much warmer, although the radiators keep warm as before.
4. We connect radiators in a different way
You can connect the elements of the heating system in different ways: diagonally, side or bottom.
To ensure maximum heat transfer, you need to use the first option (diagonal connection) - (figure below). Then the coolant will evenly fill the radiator sections. And in the batteries there will be no zones where dirt can clog.
If you heed these tips, the temperature in your home will become more comfortable!
