In August, when harvest time comes, cucumbers have nowhere to go. Part is eaten immediately, and part is canned for the winter. However, every gardener wants to extend the time when it is possible to eat fresh cucumbers. I will tell you how to do this in this article.
To keep cucumbers fresh for a long time, it is necessary to select the right applicants for storage. Only hard fruits of medium and small size without visible physical damage can lie for a long time. The skin of the cucumber should be firm and firm.
After the best applicants have been selected, it is necessary to create the right storage conditions. For this we need a large plastic food container with high walls and a refrigerator. It is in it that we will leave the cucumbers for long-term storage.
Pour clean water into our container to the level of two centimeters and arrange the cucumbers in a row with their tails down, as shown in the photo above. I deliberately took out most of the fruit from the container so that you can see how the cucumbers come into contact with the water. During storage, the liquid will be absorbed and evaporate, so its level must be constantly monitored.
This method keeps the cucumbers fresh and strong for up to two months. The taste and appearance remain practically unchanged.
