First of all, it is worthwhile to understand that the glass heating system (primarily the rear one) is an extremely simple thing both in design and in the principle of its action. Special heating threads are applied to the glass, which conduct an electric current through themselves. The amperage depends on the specific machine model, but it is usually between 10 A and 25 A. The higher the force, the larger the heated area around the thread will be. The heating temperature in most cases reaches 70 degrees Celsius. The resistance of the filaments is 10 ohms.

All threads are connected to a common current source. The breakage of one in no way affects the performance of the other. However, damage to two or three heating elements is already becoming a serious problem. In this case, the most common problem of the glass heating system is just damage to a single string. Where the value of the voltmeter will be "zero", this will be the place of the break.

Having found a damaged area, it needs to be restored. For this, special kits with stencils are sold. True, such sets are not very cheap. Therefore, the stencil can be made by hand, as well as the restoration composition. At this point, who is what is great. Some make a mixture of copper shavings and nail polish, while others mix superglue and a grated pencil lead. You can also restore the damaged section of the thread by stenciling with ordinary conductive glue (it costs about 200 rubles).

The essence of the entire restoration process comes down to removing the faulty area and stenciling a new thread from a store or homemade composition.
