On June 8, 2021, a grandiose police operation ended, as a result of which more than 800 criminals were detained in 18 countries. They were caught using a "secure messenger" ANOM.

In 2018, the FBI detained the CEO of Phantom Secure, which supplied modified encrypted smartphones to drug dealers. Then the idea arose to catch criminals "with a digital bait".

The FBI gained control over the new messenger AN0M and implemented the sending of all messages to the special services into it.

Undercover intelligence officials convinced Australian drug dealer Hakan Aik of Anom's reliability and he began recommending the messenger to crime bosses.

In the first year, only 50 devices operated with Anom in Australia. But soon rumors about a new messenger spread among criminals and a year later it already had hundreds of users, and in 2021 the number of devices with Anom reached 11.8 thousand worldwide, and the total number of transmitted (and carefully studied by the FBI) messages exceeded 20 million.

During the Trojan Shield operation, the FBI and special services of 18 countries detained more than 800 people, seized 8 tons of cocaine, 250 firearms, more than 48 million dollars. In addition, the police took action on 20 counts of death threats and opened several major corruption cases in different countries.
