However, instead of “swearing” with overseas colleagues and trying to catch them lying, Lobaev Arms decided to simply knock out their opponents by making a successful 4 km shot.
The company decided to use an existing rifle for the shot. Nobody changed its characteristics, dimensions, or the .408 CheyTac sleeve. But they decided to remake the cartridge, creating a completely new super-heavy bullet D30. The new development made it possible to bring the ballistic coefficient of the striking element to almost unity, which is extremely important when firing at ultra-long distances. The rifle scope was a big problem. The fact is that not a single optical sight simply lacked the ability to raise the bar in such a way in order to accept a correction at 3.5-4 km. Lobaev spied a solution to the problem from the gunners. The sight was taken out to the side of the rifle. Simple and ingenious. It is surprising that no one before Lobaev Arms used this in hand-held firearms.
