When you have the opportunity to contemplate the "relationship" between some of our motorists, I want to exclaim only one thing: and these people are asking to legalize "short-barreled" in the country?! Unfortunately, the number of conflicts on the roads only grows from year to year. Many people, for a variety of reasons, are literally on pins and needles, and therefore, at the first opportunity, they climb to "solve the issue" with the help of their fists. Is it any wonder that there is a growing number of people in the country asking the question: Is it legal to keep an air gun in a car to increase personal safety?

Today we will not talk about how effective an air pistol is as a means of self-defense. Our question is different and absolutely specific: is it possible to carry such a pistol in a car in principle. Relations with pneumatics, as with any other type of weapon in Russia, are regulated by Federal Law No. 150 "On Weapons" dated 12/13/1996. The first and foremost thing that he tells us is that pneumatics is not a means of self-defense. Official such weapons can only be used to improve shooting and sports skills. Everything else in the matter of transporting such a pistol in the cabin of the car directly follows from this moment.

According to Clause 6 of the already mentioned Federal Law No. 150 "On Weapons", it is forbidden to transport any loaded pneumatic weapon in a car. And this, in turn, means that such a weapon must have a can of compressed gas twisted and the projectile receiver removed. Of course, the pneumatics must be unloaded during transportation. It will not be superfluous to recall that in Russia, pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy indicator of no more than 7.5 J.

Based on the foregoing, if a police officer stops a car and sees a loaded pneumatic weapon in it, then he will have the full and absolutely legal right to seize it. Pneumatics, including a pistol, must be transported in a strictly disassembled form in a case or bag. Also, you need to have all the necessary documents for the transported weapon. Otherwise, the weapon may be taken for examination. And most importantly: never tell anyone that this is a weapon for self-defense. Such a statement, especially when guarding the order, is guaranteed to end with the withdrawal of even pneumatics correctly transported in the car.
