When the hot summer weather sets in the city, many tend to go to rest in nature. Some go hunting on weekends, others go fishing, still others go hiking, etc. Regardless of the type of recreation: passive or active, in nature, mosquitoes will definitely start attacking people.

Unfortunately, these stubborn bloodsuckers can ruin the weekend completely. To combat mosquitoes, various sprays have been invented, which are full of shop windows with the onset of the summer season. And these tools really help. But the trouble is that it is not always possible to take them with you when you are going to nature.

I also note that when using such sprays, the duration of protection against mosquitoes is only a few hours. Those who plan to stay on vacation for more than two days need to have a significant supply of these aerosols.

I want to share with you two simple and effective methods that will help protect yourself from bloodsuckers. A familiar huntsman told me about them. For several years now I have been using jaeger methods, and they have never let me down.

  • 1. The first method is as follows: you are looking for an anthill in nature. I think, wherever you are resting, there will definitely be an anthill.

We will not touch the insects, we only need the acid they produce. As a child, my friends and I repeatedly tried formic acid: we stuck sticks into an anthill, and then licked them. The sticks tasted slightly sour.

It takes a lot of formic acid to keep out mosquitoes. You need to take a piece of cloth, slightly wet it. Note that you can also use a dry cloth, but if it is wet, it will absorb formic acid better.

Next, you need to slightly disturb the insects by laying the cloth on their home. After 5 - 10 minutes, turn the rag over and wait the same amount.

As a result, the fabric will be saturated with acid and will acquire a very specific aroma. Mosquitoes hate the smell of formic acid.

Be sure to shake the ants off the cloth and wipe the areas of the body that bloodsuckers can reach with it. I forgot to say that some people are allergic to formic acid, so first you need to make sure that it is absent.

The effect of acid use lasts quite a long time, sometimes during the day. Those who identify themselves with an allergy to the waste product of ants should resort to another method.

Cut the tinder fungus and cut into thin slices. Imagine cutting a loaf of bread.

Ignite the slices you make. They will not catch fire, but will only smolder slowly. The method is similar to using store-bought insect spirals. The main advantage of the tinder fungus is its complete harmlessness to the human body.

It is most effective to use this method in closed rooms, tents. But even in the air, it will work. To prevent mosquitoes from sticking in your direction, it is better to place a few smoldering slices of tinder fungus around the place where you will sit.
