What bits: PH 1,2,3 or PZ 1,2,3 do you need to have at home? Found out empirically

No one will argue that a screwdriver at a construction site or during repairs is the most demanded and irreplaceable tool. Not a single master can do without his help. Fix a sheet of drywall, plywood, OSB without problems. Insert the screw and screw in. Even in roofing, the screwdriver has come to replace the hammer and nails. What can I say, your author uses a regular shura instead of a "mixer" and mixes small portions of building mixtures.

And with the second percussion, I'm already twisting only screws, I talked about this device here.

In addition, I bought bits for my powerful friend. As they say, "freaked out" and bought the most common format: PH "Phillips" and PZ "Pozidriv" Only 60 bits. No, but what, tired of constant searches with the words: "Here's a head full of holes, where did you put the bat?" And so an hour jumping around the construction site, wasting precious time. And now there are no problems, there is always a fallback.

Over time, I decided to revise the screws, get them from different corners of the construction site and put them in one secluded place. In addition, it became interesting which bits are the most common during the repair, which format has to work the most. And so I made a kind of rating, the most unnecessary and most demanded ones. I am sure it will come in handy for you, so as not to spend on extra bits.

Bit formats not used

Of all the sets of bits, three sets were the least in demand:

PH1, PH3, PZ1 I did not use them at all at the construction site. So there are thirty pieces in total in a box with "treasures" as a dead weight.

Periodically used bit at the construction site

To tighten powerful self-tapping screws, I often used PZ3, this shape of the bit is powerful, well withstand the load.

Frequently used bit format during repair

PZ2 it is often used by manufacturers of dowel-nails and in long thin self-tapping screws.

The most demanded bit on the construction site and during renovation

The PH2 is the favorite shape of the bit for hardware manufacturers. Starting from "seeds" ending with long powerful self-tapping screws, often black.

Therefore, I recommend purchasing sets of bits of the format for repair and construction: PZ3, PZ2, PH2. Immediately 10 pieces of each. Believe me, in the end it will be cheaper, and you will save your nerves.
