However, its implementation requires additional spending of time and effort, which naturally causes negative emotions in most people (even very hardworking ones). To prevent the board from cracking when driving in a nail, it will be enough to mark the holes with a drill or screw. Even a small indentation will prevent further dismemberment of the material along the wood grain.

The second "old-fashioned" method is even easier, and most importantly faster. It is necessary to take a nail and rest it with a head on a hard surface. After that, a hammer is taken and a gentle blow is applied to the point of the nail so that it is slightly dull. Now the carnation will no longer prick so much. The process of hammering will not become more difficult, but the wood will no longer crack.
