The flower is grown with the help of seeds, which are sown more favorable in late autumn. Sowing can also be done in February. The first flowering in this case can be expected by the end of summer. Whichever time is chosen, the seeds need protection from the cold. When growing on windows, for protection purposes, foam or foil leaves can be used, which are placed between the window and the flower pots.

Growing processes on a windowsill and in a garden are basically identical. The only difference is the transplanting of seedlings to a flower bed. Transplanting eustoma is best done by transshipment. A pick can be more traumatic for a delicate plant. After all, its root system is weak and shallow. During transshipment, the process of flower adaptation will be much faster. Up to three seedlings can be placed in one common container. The main thing is that the growing container has a volume of at least 2.5 liters.

For successful germination and further healthy growth, the air temperature should be maintained at 20 degrees. In general, the temperature in the apartment is comfortable for growing a flower; there is no need to create special conditions. In summer, the eustoma will feel better if the pots are positioned on the north side of the balcony.

Basic rules of care

The exotic origin of eustoma determines some nuances in temperature and humidity conditions and soil characteristics.

In order for the eustoma to please with a beautiful flowering and a healthy appearance, the flower must be provided with:

  • Light: The plant needs bright light, but without direct exposure to the scorching rays of the sun. Therefore, for home cultivation, it is most favorable to choose window sills from the southeast or southwest side. On hot days, the crop should be protected from excessive sunlight.
  • Plants are very fond of humid air, but the culture does not need additional spraying of leaves and flowers. Such actions are even harmful, they can lead to diseases. If the air in the apartment is too dry, you can place a container filled with water next to the flower pots.
  • The flower should be fed at least twice a month. Ready-made fertilizer mixes can be purchased at the store.
  • Water as needed. The soil should not be allowed to dry out, however, excessive watering should also be feared.

Eustoma has good natural immunity, most diseases and pests are not afraid of it. The only problem that can arise from improper care is rotting. Excessive humidity and low temperatures can lead to illness. Such a disease is easier to prevent than to cure, so it is worth paying sufficient attention to preventive measures. For these purposes, watering with hydrogen peroxide and diluted water is well suited. In one liter of clean water, dilute 2 tablespoons of the product and water the flower under the roots.

How to determine the presence of diseases

In order to react in time and prevent the spread of the disease, it is important to periodically examine the culture for the following signs:

  • If gray spots appear on the trunk and leaves, the plant is affected by gray rot.
  • If the tips of the roots have turned dark and growth has slowed down, the crop will encounter brown rot.
  • An affected eustoma leg with spots indicates fusarium.
  • If the leaves turn yellow, you should pay attention to watering: it may be excessive or, conversely, insufficient.
Home-grown plants are less vulnerable to pests than horticultural crops. With strict observance of all conditions of care, the eustoma will delight with a lush beautiful flowering.
