In Russia, landscape design is not as popular as abroad. Landscaping of the site is often limited to planting a couple of trees or bushes along the fence, and working with the relief implies only leveling it.
Designer Elena Tsareva told what spectacular solutions, unfortunately, are rarely found on the house plots of our compatriots. Meanwhile, they are definitely worth paying attention to.
5. Multilevel landscape
This solution is great for areas with clear elevation differences. Instead of buying soil and leveling the territory, you can beat the existing relief by laying terraces.
This method is great for zoning - it is convenient, for example, to delimit the barbecue area from the recreation area.
If the slope on the site is steep, you can arrange an interesting descent, alternating stairs with platforms of different configurations, some of them may be specific.
4. Lighting
Thoughtful lighting can completely transform the territory in the dark. Usually it is limited to a couple of lanterns. Additional lighting for plants, paths and steps is perceived as something inappropriate.
However, in addition to the decorative function, lighting also has practical value. In the absence of light, it can be dangerous to be on the site at night, especially if the area has a pronounced relief.
3. Vertical gardening
Hanging pots can be fixed on any vertical areas - fences, fences, balconies. This will help to diversify the exterior of the house and adjacent structures, to connect them with the landscape.
The main disadvantage is the need to put the pots in a warm place during the winter. This will help to avoid freezing of the soil and plant roots.
2. Wooden pergolas
Pergolas can be free-standing or attached to the house. They create a light shade, but at the same time they let in sunlight.
To provide more darkening in sunny weather, a woven fabric can be pulled between the beams of the pergola.
1. Large stone paving
Most often, paving stones or tiles are used to create paths on the site. However, the stone looks more organic. Moreover, it can be both natural and artificial.
Such paths will acquire a special entourage after the grass sprouts between the slabs. You can pave with stone not only paths, but also some unseeded areas of the garden. This will avoid planting a lawn that requires daily maintenance.
