We have been living in a new house for almost a year now and have not yet acquired a solid mirror in the hallway. I don’t really need it, I don’t like to look in the mirror in the morning, they constantly show some kind of swollen face, but my beloved girls (my wife and daughter) when they are going somewhere to go out, they constantly sneak into the bathroom halfway through the house instead of fixing their hair in the corridor :-)))
My next question "How long do you need to be ready in 10 minutes?" the wife no longer laughed, but only frowned. No, she didn’t say anything, her look was enough for me to understand that I urgently needed a mirror in the corridor!
Unfortunately, today is my working day, so I planned a trip to the store for the weekend, and when I arrived home I was very surprised... My wife was finishing the mirror with her own hands... And I helped her hang it on the wall.
While I was sitting in my pants in the office, she went to Leroy and bought two planed inch 2-meter boards for 350 rubles, a bare mirror cloth measuring 60 cm x 130 cm. for 870 rubles, a white door seal and a dozen metal furniture fixing corners.
The boards were needed to make the frame and their length was just enough to cover the perimeter of the canvas. Each board was sawn into two pieces: 50 and 140 cm.
After that, in the corporate style of our interior, my wife burned the boards with a burner. I did this too when I was constructing the ceiling on wooden beams, which I left open in the interior of the house.

After firing, the burned top layer of wood was removed with a nylon brush:
This process is called wood brushing. Here, with the help of a special brush, soft wood fibers are removed and the harder ones remain, thereby giving a very beautiful natural pattern of the wood species. The texture and volume emerge.
Without varnish and other impregnations, pine after such a procedure takes the following form:
When all the boards were ready, they were twisted into a frame using the furniture corners from the back to the screws. Further, the door seal was glued, on which the mirror sheet lay.
The frame and the mirror are held by the same metal corners installed along the entire perimeter of the frame with a mandatory rubber gasket between the metal and glass:

I think it turned out very cool and stylish! Now the wife wants to do something else, apparently she liked it... The mirror fits wonderfully into the interior.
