Modern kitchens are increasingly mimicking living spaces. They try to make them "invisible", so the metallic sheen can be found only in cutlery. However, metal can be brought in not only with the help of stainless steel. For example, copper, brass and bronze elements can look harmoniously in interiors of a wide variety of stylistic orientations.

Designer Victoria Korotetskaya told how to effectively decorate the kitchen using metal.

6. Facades

A kitchen set with metal facades can be an interior decoration. The main task is to find the right shade of metal. So, for an Art Deco style kitchen, golden or brass facades are suitable, for a loft it is better to choose metal with the effect of rust or stainless steel, which is used in restaurants and in food production industry.

5. Table top

The metal countertop will be a great addition to neutral facades. Such a solution will help to add emphasis and diversify the typeface. To draw more attention to this area, you can use, for example, copper.

Such countertops are often equipped with a side, so you don't have to mask the joint between the work surface and the apron. In addition, a sink can be integrated into them. Metal is able to withstand high temperatures, but resistance to mechanical damage (dents and scratches) depends on its type, for example, it is easier to damage copper than stainless steel.

4. Apron

The metal backsplash can be supplied with the tabletop or act as a separate element. Metal sheets do not fade over time, and are also hygienic and easy to clean.

This apron will look best in combination with natural or artificial stone.

3. Plumbing and fittings

An easier way to incorporate metal into your kitchen is to find the right plumbing and fittings. These can be brass sinks or taps in a pinkish copper hue.

It is important that the metal element is not alone, otherwise the interior will look scattered. Complete the faucet with handles on facades or railings made of the same type of metal.

2. Appliances

Household appliances often have a chrome surface, which is already familiar to the eye. However, the same cannot be said for copper or bronze appliances.

A brass oven or cooker hood can easily turn from just a piece of equipment into a real art object, and bronze items will be a great addition to a retro-style interior.

1. Furniture

Metal can also appear in the kitchen as freestanding furniture. These can be large items like an island and a mobile table on wheels, or smaller ones — chairs and stools.

Most often, for their manufacture, an appropriate spraying or paint that imitates metal is used.
