The main thing is to design the bench in such a way as to provide sufficient depth of the seating area. According to the rules of ergonomics, it should be 50-55 cm. The hollow space under the bench can be filled with boxes or boxes.
On the kitchen
It may be unusual to see a bench in the kitchen, but it can be used to easily dilute the usual combination of "table + 4 chairs". By complementing the dining room group with a bench, you add dynamics to the interior. The picture will look more lively and non-standard.
