The dream of every gardener is to get rid of infections and adversity once and for all. But, unfortunately, they have not yet come up with such strong means to do this. In my practice, I regularly use an eradication treatment of the garden to protect the fruit trees from infections.
I advise you to do two treatments: spring and autumn. The first is for prevention, the second is for fighting infections. When frosts come, all pests are vulnerable, as they try to survive and hide just in the bark of trees or in fallen leaves. Therefore, I treat the bark with pesticides and burn the leaves.
Processing time
There are two opinions among experienced gardeners regarding the timing of eradication treatment. Everything, of course, is individual and depends on the weather and climate. But in the first case, it is believed that it is better to do this when all the leaves fall off and the buds close. In the second case, it is better to do this before the leaves fall. Since the pests will die immediately, without having time to get into the soil.
My trees have been hit hard by infections lately. If yours too, then I recommend using the second processing option. Only after the whole crop has already been harvested. I believe this will help the trees better prepare for wintering.
But, if there were few pests and diseases, then it is worth waiting for the leaves to fall off, and calmly carry out the treatment.
Processing facilities
I do not recommend using biological products, as they need a stable temperature to work properly. It is also not advisable to use all folk methods, because they will definitely not help. Eradicating treatment assumes a very strong blow to the infection. And only a chemical agent can help in this: a fungicide or an insecticide.
Disease remedy options:
- Copper sulfate. Possesses fungicidal and antiseptic properties. Fights fungal diseases. A 3-5% solution is used.
- Inkstone. A 5% solution is used and only after leaf fall. Fights scab, gray and fruit rot, powdery mildew, etc.
- Bordeaux liquid. A universal remedy. Contains copper sulfate and slaked lime. A 3% solution is used.
- Urea. Universal product, contains nitrogen. Dilute 500-700 g per 10 liters of water.
I often use industrial fungicides. Such as "Bronex", "Antracol", "Luna Tranquility", "Topaz", "Impact", "Fundazol", "Quadris", "Previkur", "Horus" and others.
You just have to be careful and choose the one that suits your culture.
Pest control
When choosing a remedy for parasites, I know exactly which one is suitable, as I carefully observe the trees and determine their type. But, if you were not able to find out, then there are means of a wide range of actions. The instructions indicate who they affect and how to use it.
The most effective in my opinion: "Lufox", "Ivanhoe", "Insegar", "Alatar", "Vertimek", "Coragen", "Proclame", "Sharpei", etc.
The process of preparing trees for processing:
- First of all, I remove everything that is unnecessary from the plant. Branches that have dried up, and, if any, lichens, moss from the bark.
- I collect and burn fallen leaves. Pests often live in them.
- I loosen the soil near the trunk. Collecting nests of parasites.
The processing procedure takes very little time, but it is very useful as it protects your garden. By doing everything regularly, you can forget about problems for a long time.
