Plastic window systems are one of the best achievements in modern construction. If earlier tenants had to worry about drafts and quickly cooling the apartment in cold winter, now the protective properties of the window are enough to completely isolate the room from external impacts. Plastic windows in Orenburg, Voronezh, Novosibirsk and many other cities of Russia are produced in a variety of designs, taking into account the characteristics of the climatic zone in which the city is located. From such a variety, it is easy to make a choice for each specific case, focusing on the set of necessary parameters.

Quality and price

The design and equipment of plastic windows is designed for use in different conditions and for different price categories. Therefore, you should be more careful about determining what you want to get in the end.

  • Basic variant (two-chamber profile, single-chamber double-glazed window). Such windows are used where special protection is not needed, for example, in non-residential premises. This is the cheapest option, which is preferred for global economies and in cases where someone lives in areas with an extremely temperate climate without much cold or heat.

  • Standard windows (three-chamber profile, double-glazed window). The most common design with an average protection level. It is suitable in most cases, unless you have to live in regions with harsh climatic conditions.
  • Expensive windows (five-chamber profile, three-chamber double-glazed window). Such windows provide a high level of protection against external influences. They perfectly keep severe frosts and heat, and they are also installed in houses near the roadway.

Profile and its indicators

The protective qualities of a window are largely influenced by the number of chambers and the width of the profile. For example, windows in Orenburg most often they are made from a profile with three and five chambers, and in the residents of Anapa, due to the warm climate, there are enough two-chamber profiles on the windows. There is a profile with a large number of cameras, but it is rarely used. The chamber is an empty space that acts as isolation. They reduce thermal conductivity and absorb noise. The more cameras, the better protection the profile provides. Of course, with an increase in the number of cameras, the price also rises, while the optimal ratio of protective qualities and cost is considered to be a three-chamber profile. At least in most cases, this is quite enough. The profile must be reinforced with a steel insert to increase the rigidity of the entire frame. Its thickness (installation depth) is also of great importance: a frame with a greater thickness will have better sound insulation.

Glazing

The profile occupies only a small area of the window, everything else is glazing. Most of the heat and noise from the street is lost through it. That is why ordinary window glass was replaced with a glass unit. In it, between two glass panes fixed in a reinforced rubber frame, gas is pumped with good thermal insulation qualities, for example, carbon dioxide. Such a sandwich has much better insulating characteristics than ordinary glass, and the degree of protection depends on a number of features.

  • Number of cameras. Usually three glasses are used (double-glazed unit). Four cameras provide much better protection, but also cost more.
  • Distance between glasses. Increased performance in sound insulation is achieved by increasing the distance between the glasses of one of the chambers.
  • Additional glazing. The outer part of the glass unit can be reinforced with another glass. This will increase the strength of the window and allow it to withstand significant impacts.
  • Optional features. Increased performance or additional capabilities are achieved from a double-glazed unit by changing its design. Fire-resistant glass with increased safety is obtained by adding a reinforcing mesh. Replacing the outer glass with triplex (two glasses connected by a polymer film), you get a durable shatterproof glass unit that can withstand strong impacts and have greater sound insulation. Selective glass (with a coating that absorbs infrared radiation) reduces the heating of the premises in the summer and slows down the cooling in the winter.

Non-obvious little things

Before as buy windows in Orenburg, Kazan, Yaroslavl or any other city in Russia, you need to pay attention to some nuances in order to take care of the future comfort and increase the life of the windows.

  • Sealant. Ethylene-propylene rubber is often used as one of the cheapest with good characteristics. If possible, it is better to prefer a silicone seal, which is more durable.
  • Fittings. It is better not to save on accessories by choosing a more expensive one. It has increased wear resistance and high tensile strength, which means it will last longer.
  • Opening mechanism. The most versatile option is the swing-out mechanism, it is the most convenient and practical.
