Fences with diamonds can be seen in any post-Soviet city. Gray concrete structures so accustomed eye that seems to have become an integral part of the urban landscape. But few people know about how there was a project of this unpretentious fence, and how was the fate of his architect.
Fence with diamonds on its popularity may well claim to be the most ambitious architectural project of the Soviet Union and post-Soviet countries. These fences enclose various objects: plants, railways, military units. The concept was developed in the 1970s in the design office "Mosgorstoymaterialy". Supervised department of architects at the time, Boris Lachman, it's the invention belongs.
Boris Lachman and colleagues prepared a sketch of three fences, the task was: to find an option that will be the most attractive from an aesthetic point of view.
