Greetings, dear subscribers and guests of the channel!
I have noticed that I have to use plastic ties on a regular basis. They come to the rescue when you need to fix something, quickly fix it, etc. This is especially true for owners of private houses and summer cottages.
The advantages of plastic ties are many: they are durable, cheap, and do not require the use of additional tools.
But screeds have certain disadvantages:
1. First, they can only be used once.
2. Secondly, when they are needed, they are never there! Maybe this problem is relevant only for me, but I think you also had to deal with it.
In the second case, we are talking not only about screeds, but also about other materials such as electrical tape, thin wire, rope, etc. Go to a hardware store to buy some plastic clamps, don't I want to. Therefore, you have to somehow get out, using the means at hand.
In today's article we will look at how to make reusable plastic ties with our own hands. In terms of their reliability and strength, they turn out to be no worse than store clamps. Homemade screeds are made quickly and easily.
You will need a plastic bottle to make them. I think no one should have any problems here. You need to cut out the middle part from the bottle.
Then we cut the resulting cylinder lengthwise and turn it into an even layer. From this layer we cut small strips, about 20 millimeters in thickness. A clerical knife or sharp scissors will help to make an even cut.
Next, you need to heat the knife blade. You can do this with a lighter.
Step back about 5 millimeters from the edges of the strip, then make several cuts at intervals of 7 to 10 millimeters.
Attach a ruler to the edges of the slots and remove excess strips. The width of the finished strip should be slightly less than the length of the slots.
Here is such a nice clamp you should get.
Pass the end of the clamp from below into the first hole, then insert it into the second hole and into the third. The end of the tie should come out on top of the last hole.
Take the clamp by the wider part and pull it tight. Thread the edge of the screed back into the first slot. If the end is too large, you can cut it off.
