Today I will tell you about the new LED lamps. They are, of course, not new, but their design is, in fact, new. These lamps were ordered by me on Aliexpress.

What is the novelty of this design? Now you can see in the picture above and below that the LED chips on this lamp shine 360 degrees (in all directions). This, as much as possible, resembles the color distribution from the spiral of a conventional incandescent lamp.

The fact that the light goes in all directions, and not only on the sides, as in the classical model, made me think that it is possible to use these lamps in a lens. And it is quite possible that a good result will be obtained when using them. Therefore, today we will just put this lamp in the lens and look.

We will see the results. When I looked at Aliexpress reviews for these lamps, I saw several photos of buyers, how they installed the lamp in a reflector optics (this is without a lens). Immediately I say, do not engage in such garbage.

Do not put these lamps in reflective optics under any circumstances, as the result is terrible. I'll show you everything. But nevertheless, so someone does, judging by the photos in the comments on Aliexpress, but in vain. Again, no reflectors and no fog lights for these bulbs!

Design

Let's move on to the design now, and then I will show how it shines and my thoughts on using these lamps.

The first thing that struck me was its size, just look how compact it is in the lamp, there is nothing superfluous.

There is a fan and a steel base, which made me very happy, because the steel base is thinner and easier to fix in the lamps. And look, what an interesting design, there is an elastic band, it allows you to rotate the lamp, without clamps.

It rotates easily so that you choose some optimal position of the lamp in the headlight. But, this rotation did not interest me too much, since twist it, do not twist it, everything is the same. Since the LEDs are everywhere (in a circle) and there won't be much difference. But it's nice that this has been done.

Also, no drivers, it is built into the lamp itself, this is a huge plus. I believe that the more compact the lamp, the fewer protruding parts it has, the easier it will be to install it. When I connected it to measure the approximate consumption of the lamp, I was surprised. She is practically one of the most powerful.

What is its current consumption? This lamp is already warm, that is, cold, it is even higher - 2.32 A.

He will certainly fall a little, but not much. This suggests that this lamp is very powerful. I have some questions about the cooling of this lamp, the fan is running, but quiet.

Maybe, of course, it is very high quality and therefore quiet, but I heard that many fans are very noisy. And here everything is very quiet, the current consumption decreases, but not much. I can safely say that this is one of the most powerful lamps, the more interesting it will be to conduct the test.

It’s very interesting if we can get away from the main disadvantage of LED lamps in the lens. And the disadvantage of LED lamps of a classic design when installed in a lens is the absence of a bright spot in the center.

If with a halogen lamp, we see a bright spot in the center and a decrease in illumination at the edges, then in the case of LED lamps, we see the opposite situation. At the edges, the illumination increases, and in the center it is often about two times lower.

That is why I do not recommend LED lamps in a lens to anyone. Because, I understand, yes, a person gets a wider beam of light, the angle of illumination increases, but there is little light in the center. Therefore, these lamps were interesting to me.

If someone does not understand why such an effect, this is due to the fact that the LED chips in the lamp are located on two sides, respectively, they shine only to the sides. The light goes to the left and to the right, but there is no lighting up and down.

Therefore, most of it goes to the lateral parts of the lens reflector, and, accordingly, it is the lateral zones of the light beam that are illuminated. The top and bottom are responsible for the center, and in this regard, our illumination worsens.

And it seems that these lamps are precisely designed to correct this lack of LED lamps in the lens.

My verdict: this type of LED lamp is definitely worth considering!
