White color in the interior will never become outdated. The snow-white walls refer to the style of island Greece, and the furniture can testify to the courage and cleanliness of the owners. However, sometimes a completely white space can look too sterile and flat.

How to avoid this, the designer said Maria Ustinova.

6. Unusual geometry

To prevent total white interior from looking boring, you can play with the geometry of the room. An interesting solution would be, for example, creating a semi-arch or using vertical painted wooden slats on the wall or as a partition.

This technique will work if the decor is dosed, otherwise the interior will look overloaded.

5. Combine warm and cold shades

Shades of white, like any other color, can be cold or warm. To create a harmonious interior, they need to be mixed - to combine boiling white and milk, pearl and ivory.

Play with shades is one of the fundamental principles of monochrome interior design. This will help to work out the volume and give the space depth.

4. Contrasting combinations

Another technique is the use of contrasting combinations. It is easy to implement with the help of details - dark sofa legs, poster frames on the walls or stripes on textiles. At the same time, they do not have to be black at all - gray shades work well, as well as such saturated colors as fuchsia and emerald green. The latter will look unexpectedly in a white interior, and in the form of dotted spots they will certainly revive the room and delight the eye.

With less active contrasting shades, you can allow yourself more daring experiments, for example, decorate an accent wall at the head of the bed or make the ceiling darker than the walls.

Such techniques allow you to change the geometry of the space - to visually make the room wider or higher, and most importantly - more comfortable.

3. Correct lighting

It is important to keep in mind that the same shade of white can look different under different lighting conditions. So, warm light will yellow even a cold shade, and white will make it even colder and deprive the room of comfort.

To create the most comfortable environment, it is better not to be limited to one lighting scenario - you can leave warm light for a backlight or a floor lamp and turn it on when you want to rest and relax. Luminaires that are used during work or at lunch should be equipped with fluorescent lamps.

2. Accents

A few color accents will not damage the snow-white interior. These can be almost imperceptible details like a bunch of dried flowers and books in colored covers, or more voluminous elements. Colorful art objects look interesting on a white background.

This backdrop allows them to stand out to the fullest. Another safe bet is plants. Living greens will add color.

1. Variety of textures

A variety of textures is important for any monochrome interior. The easiest way to achieve this in textiles is by combining different fabrics. But the finish can also be made textured, for example, leaving the walls imperfectly aligned. Such a technique will add authenticity and at the same time save your budget.

You can also combine plain-painted drywall and white brick on the plane of the wall, which will seem to appear outward from the depths of history. If such a finish is beaten with appropriate lighting, then you will not even need any decor.
