Why does the brazier burn out to holes, even if weld it from thick armor?

Friends, I welcome everyone to our channel for self-taught beginners in welding and locksmiths!

Today is Saturday, a day off, so I decided not to raise complex welding and locksmiths topics. Let's talk about easy interesting topics, but still related to metal and welding.

Probably everyone who just has a welding machine makes a brazier one of their first products. Braziers are cooked from metals of different thicknesses, designs and sizes.

Why does the brazier burn out to holes, even if weld it from thick armor?

But any brazier still burns out, regardless of the thickness of its walls, even if it is 10 millimeters. Why can't we get away from this?

The heat from the wood in the grill not only makes a delicious barbecue, but also heats the walls and bottom of the grill to red. And the more often you fry the meat, the faster you will need to cook a new grill. Here's what happens.

Do you see a once new and beautiful car? Over time, rust destroys its metal. A red-brown coating appears on the surface of the metal, this is iron oxide. Appears from the reaction of iron and oxygen. And in the grill, this process is much faster and more destructive.

You see in the photo a piece of iron heated to red. A few minutes ago it might have been a new piece of metal, but now scale is peeling off in layers.

This is called metal waste, in short, after heating to red, an oxide film appears on the surface, which, like rust, is no longer a metal and can separate from the main piece.

In one such cycle of heating-cooling, the scale leaves from 3% of the weight of the metal, but the larger the surface, the greater the percentage.

So this is a normal and inevitable process. What can you advise? If you cook a complex one or buy an expensive brazier, then let the brazier itself be removable.

It's just that it won't be as pity to replace metal boxes as to change or patch up a beautiful expensive brazier.

Well, or not to drive and cook or buy simple barbecues without frills, so that it is cheap and cheerful, and it's not a pity!
