How to use Aliexpress free returns

Since 2019, some items can be returned free of charge on Aliexpress without explanation. I have already told you twice how to use this opportunity, but still many do not understand what a free return is and how to implement it.

How to use Aliexpress free returns

If an item has a free return, it's very easy to return it and get your money back. No shipping or packaging fees are required. You need to issue a free return on the website or in the Aliexpress application, pack the goods and take them to the nearest branch of the Russian Post (even if you received the goods by another service).

When choosing products, pay attention to the icon and the inscription "Free return for any reason within 15 days" under the buttons "Buy now" and "Add to cart".

How to use Aliexpress free returns

Unfortunately, now the free return filter has been removed from the search, and when searching for products it is also not visible whether there is a free return or not. To find out, you have to go to the product card.

As a rule, many sellers have the same product on Ali. I always try to buy where there is a free return. Moreover, I make some purchases only on condition of a free return, when I'm not sure about the quality of the goods.

After the order is placed and paid for, goods with free return have a corresponding line in the list of orders in the application. Unfortunately, this is not visible on the website.

I advise you not to confirm receipt of the item until you have definitely decided that you will not return it. A free return is given 15 days from the moment of confirmation of receipt, and if you do not confirm it, you can stretch it for a month.

At the 11/11 sale, I ordered, among other things, a cordless drill / engraver for 955 rubles. A couple of days ago, the order arrived, but I didn't like this thing right away: it is healthy, heavy, there is no normal stopper, but most importantly, it is low-power - the cartridge can be easily stopped by hand.

This is exactly the case: I made an order only because I was sure of the possibility of a return if I didn’t like the product. And so it happened.

Using this drill as an example, I will show you how a return is processed.

First you need to go to the list of orders on the website or in the application and select the desired order: on the website, click "More" next to the order number, in the application, just click on it.

A page with information about the order will open, click there the gray button "Open dispute".

On the page for opening a dispute, click "Return of goods and money" (or "Return of funds and goods" in the application).

In the field "problem encountered" or "reason for dispute" in the application, select the very first item "Convenient return" (if this item is not there, the product does not have a free return).

In the "Refund Amount" field, enter the maximum amount indicated on the right.

In the field "Explain your decision" or "Specify the details of the request" we write "did not fit" (do not write that the product is faulty or does not work well!).

You don't need to add photos or videos. Click "Request for local return" or "OK" in the application.

The "Dispute Negotiation" screen appears.

After that, you need to wait. The maximum waiting time is two days, but usually a few minutes are enough. Refresh the page, and if you closed it, you will have to look in the application (when the dispute is open, for some reason it is no longer displayed on the site).

Click the "Get tracking number" or "Return of goods" button in the application.

The "Free Return Tracking Number" appears (in the "Track Number" app).

In the application, you can also click "Get barcode" and a barcode for this track number will appear on the screen. Take a screenshot.

Next, you need to pack the goods. You can use the packaging in which the goods arrived, but it is important to turn it inside out so that addresses and barcodes are not visible. You can use a regular plastic bag from a supermarket (it is better to turn it inside out, the post office does not like it when there are any inscriptions on the parcel).

Cover the package with tape so that nothing falls out.

You don't need to fill out any receipts, you don't need to write the address on the parcel either. Then you need to go to any post office, in the parcel department, say that you have "Aliexpress Convenient Return" and show a barcode or give a track number. Some post offices may offer to buy a package from them to send, you must politely refuse and say that you are happy with your package. The parcel will be accepted (free of charge) and a check will be issued with the same tracking number. It takes 5 days from the date of registration to get to the post office.

And then you just have to wait until the money is returned to the card. This usually takes about 10 days.

At first glance, the return procedure seems complicated, but the second time it is done very quickly and does not cause any difficulties.
