Five years ago, we bought a plot of land with an old house and moved from the metropolis to the suburbs of the city. Rostov-on-Don. We took a plot with the aim of building a new house, and now, after 5 years, our dream has come true! Build a house on my own and on my channel "I build for myself" you can find articles detailing each stage of building my house.

Once, having spent 15,000 rubles, I have already saved more than 50,000 rubles. I show how I made a basement, a fence and a porch

Returning home after work, I want to rest and escape from the hustle and bustle, so I always wanted to be comfortable in the yard, this my wife and I pursued the goal, thinking over the location of buildings and recreation areas on the site, as well as the materials from which all this will be make.

We already knew in advance that on the territory of the courtyard something would necessarily be made of wood, and something of stone, because these are the very materials from which nature, warm atmosphere and coziness emanate.

Having weighed all the pros and cons, it was decided to make the basement of the house of stone... But, do not veneer the basement later, but make a full-fledged masonry immediately on the foundation: firstly, I will do it myself and I will save money, and secondly, it will be cheaper for me than making a concrete or brick basement, but I still need them later veneer!

As soon as I received the documents permitting the construction of a house, I immediately called the quarry and ordered a full Kamaz buta (rubble stone). Due to inexperience, I did not know, and at the moment of unloading, when a stone fell out of the body in bulk, I realized that I had gone too far ...

Yes, I paid only 15,000 rubles for 15 tons of stone, but the question is - where should I put it? :-))) I didn't know this yet ...

Price for 1 ton of rubble stone - 830 rubles. + delivery 2500 rub.

Hopes that the lion's share of the stone will go to the basement of the house collapsed. I spent only 6 tons on it, 9 more remained.

The total cost of a stone base (including cement-sand mortar) is 24,000 rubles. A concrete plinth would have come out to me, taking into account the wooden formwork, at 37,000 rubles. And this is without cladding!

For two years we stumbled over this stone lying in the yard until I found another use for it. After the box of the house was already ready, I decided not to spend money on the porch, but to make it completely out of stone... it was necessary to put it somewhere :-)

A concrete porch together with tiles would have cost me 19,000 rubles, and a stone one came out only 4,000 rubles. Of course, I did everything myself.

The entire body of the porch from the very base to the steps is made of rubble stone, but the pile did not diminish much, it took only 2 tons to the porch.

The new construction season had come and according to the plans it was supposed to start with the laying of paving slabs, but I still could not prepare the yard, since it was littered with stones. Then another thought struck me... I found another use for the stone - you can make a fence out of it, or rather, columns for a fence!

The cost of stone columns, taking into account the masonry mortar, is 8,000 rubles, if it were a brick, the price would be 26,000 rubles.

It took a lot on the fence - about 4 tons, it has already become easier... I chose all the large boulders, small stones remained and it was already easier to move them from place to place. Over the course of a few days, I dragged the leftover boot into the backyard so I was able to finish laying the tiles at the entrance to the courtyard.

From the remains of the stone, I made a barbecue area:

But, and that's not all!

About a ton of stone is left. I put it on a pallet, let it wait while I find some other use for it ...

That's what it means to overdo it! For the 6th year in a row I have been shifting it from place to place :-) Maybe a fountain in the yard can be made !!!
