A clever scheme to deceive metal receivers. I handed over scrap and almost got caught, looked at the scales in time

Several years ago, we purchased a land plot, on the facade of which there is an old house, and behind it there was a huge piece of land, where just the previous owners were engaged in the cultivation of flowers. Now we have built a house on this place.

The flowers were grown in greenhouse conditions. The greenhouse occupied a whole hundred square meters of land - 21 m long and 5 m wide. It consisted of a metal frame covered with a thick plastic wrap. The frame is very solid, it was made of a solid steel rod 22 mm thick. The weight is incredible! 5 years ago, just before the construction - the whole greenhouse was dismantled, and the arcs were postponed until better times!

A clever scheme to deceive metal receivers. I handed over scrap and almost got caught, looked at the scales in time

Everywhere I tried to stick them: I tried to use them in the foundation, I tried to lay them in a concrete slab for the entrance of a car, all attempts ended in failure ...

And just now I came to the conclusion that I don't need these arcs, they only take up space, but there is no benefit, I will not do the greenhouse anyway. Besides, I can't straighten it, they are too thick! I made a decision to hand them over for scrap and it is better to take the necessary metal for this money.

I cut all these arcs into short segments, loaded them into the trunk and took them to the reception ...

At the reception there are huge electronic scales, a platform on the street, and a scoreboard in a trailer. The receiver saw my car, got out of the trailer and showed me the place where I needed to drive ...

I hand over backwards to the platform, open the trunk and slowly start unloading the scrap onto the scales. And then a second one comes out of the trailer, apparently also an inspector:

- Are you not going to check the scales? Get on and check it out! Do you know your weight?

- I know about 95-100 kg.

I got on the scales, and the receiver through the window of his trailer shows red numbers on the scoreboard: 96.7 kg. Probably, this should have given me confidence :-))) But to be honest, I didn't even have doubts.

I climbed off the weighing platform and proceeded to unload scrap ...

A couple of times I went into the trailer to warm up, as I was not dressed for the weather and hoped to unload quickly, but I froze earlier :-))) A small queue had already lined up behind me! Having finished the unloading process, I went into the trailer again, but this time so that the guys would pay off with me. On the scales - 179.3 kg, the price per kg - 25.5. The receiver counted 4500 rubles to me and waved his hand to the second that he could free the platform for the next clients.

Then someone called him and he talked on the phone for about a minute... besides, I also counted the money for a long time, since they gave small 100 rubles, in short, apparently I stayed in the trailer and shouldn't have seen this ...

... and then the fun began... Before my eyes, as the platform is released, the scales jump over zero and begin to go into minus. Yes, yes, exactly in the negative! When the second person completely threw all my metal off the scales, the number burned on the scoreboard "- (minus) 68.8 kg". And this means that I was deceived by 68.8 kg! Like this!

How is this possible?

All commercial equipment designed for weighing goods has a function "Tara".

In simple words, to know the net weight of apples without the weight of the box, you need to put the box on the scale and press a button. "tare", after which the scales will be zeroed (as if there is no box on them) and will go into standby mode until they are poured into the box apples!

With metal, everything is the same, only while I was unloading the metal onto the platform, at some point in the trailer they pressed the "container" button! Now, the part of the metal that I unloaded - the scales took it for a container, and accordingly - reset to zero, and the countdown began anew!

What's the bottom line?

I had to swear... For a long time, the receiver justified himself with a glitch of the scales in the cold and some kind of equipment malfunction. As a result, my metal was outweighed anew and paid extra for the fair weight of 1,700 rubles. Like this!
