Landing

Veles pear can be planted in spring, autumn and even winter.

Some gardeners believe it is best to plant in the spring so that the tree can take root before the frost begins.

The place must be protected from the wind, it is enough to warm up with the sun's rays. The pear should be planted away from groundwater; loose and nutritious soil is best suited.

Pear Veles needs to be pollinated. Two-year-old seedlings take root without any problems. Check the integrity of the roots and bark. The roots should not be overdried. Prepare the landing site in advance.

If you decide to plant in the spring, then the planting hole needs to be done in the fall. In order to make a pit one meter deep and 70-80 centimeters wide, it is necessary to fold the top layer of the removed soil separately, it will serve as a filling of the pit.

How is landing

  1. A stake must be driven into the bottom of the pit, which must be at least 1.5 m.
  2. Pour the previously removed soil with humus, compost into the pit.
  3. Place the seedling in the ground, straightening the roots.
  4. Try to spread the soil evenly between the roots of the seedling.
  5. Compact the soil.
  6. Tie the seedling to a stake and pour abundantly with water.

The best result is obtained by planting on "dirty" soil. To do this, you need to pour water into the pit before planting. For heavy soil, 2 buckets of sand should be poured into the pit.

Care

The pear tree must be cared for properly so that it is healthy and bears many fruits.

Watering

For a pear tree to grow well, it must be watered 5 times a year.

The amount of watering increases in case of dry weather. The first two years are watered 3 times a month in the morning or evening hours. Moistening the soil can be carried out in various ways, but a good result is provided by supplying water to temporary furrows in tree planting sites. Sprinkling is very good.

Pruning

Every year the tree is rejuvenated by pruning. It regulates its growth, and also lays flower buds. If pruned incorrectly and too much, the tree will reduce fruiting.

As a rule, the crown of a pear tree is formed in a natural way. However, it is often necessary to form a crown.

Correct pruning affects not only the shape of the tree, but also the yield and ease of maintenance.

It happens that a tree does not want to bear fruit for a long time. Then the branches need to be lowered and given a horizontal position. So the nutrients will be directed to the laying of the kidneys. Do not leave the stumps after trimming, they must be sealed with special waxed paper. Remove bad bark. Places of wounds should be wrapped with a piece of tar paper. Do not take a new sheet, it can provoke burns. The sheet is attached above and below the wound.

In the dark, the wound healing process is much faster.

Wintering

The Veles variety is resistant to cold. Therefore, preparing for winter, you should take care of protecting trees from rodents.

For the winter, they remove the leaves and whitewash the trunks. I am preparing a solution of lime and clay. I loosen the ground in the near-trunk circles. I wrap the trunk of the pear with tarpaulin or spruce branches so that the hares do not gnaw it. I build a hut of spruce branches over the young trees.
