For insulation of the ceiling in an aerated concrete house, I used modern materials 200 mm thick, as well as for insulation of cotton wool, from excess moisture from the room, I used a special film. Impermeable to steam, respectively, and moisture in any form.
And recently, reading the comments of my readers, I came to the conclusion that many do not trust the new materials and predicted damage to the insulation and the subsequent, expensive alteration of the ceiling.
After reading the comments, I came to the conclusion that we had to climb into the attic and see what was there. I didn't want to do this, but how much I was wrong... It's good that I visited my under the roofing room.
But first, a little background. The temperature outside on average over the past month has been at around minus 15 ℃. In the house, he carried out wet work to fill the screed. Accordingly, the humidity is high and I opened the vents to weather the steam. Heating a house with a total area of just over 60 sq. m produced by air flows from miners (what is this I wrote earlier).
With a total power of 2 kW. This capacity is not sufficient for living, but excellent for work. The temperature in the house is kept from 10 to 15 ℃. And during the thaw it rises to a comfortable temperature of 20 ℃.
So, let's move on to our "rams". In the attic, first of all, I was greeted by drops of condensation, from a temporary cover made of expanded polystyrene. Apparently a loose connection provoked the release of warm, humid air, followed by condensation. But this situation is not as terrible as a heater covered with frost, along the perimeter of the whole house, where stone wool adjoins the walls from the gas block.
In one place, I found increased condensation of liquid on the rafters, to such an extent that the lumber began to turn black.
In fact, with proper installation, there should be no such problems. I started looking for a source of vapor release. He crawled into the insulation with his hand, lifted it up and saw this:
To convey the information more clearly, I climbed down from the attic and took a photo from the inside:
As you can see, my film is loose against the wall. Through these slots, air saturated with vapors penetrates into the insulation and precipitates at the border of cold and warm air:
How to solve the problem? It is enough to glue the entire perimeter of the house with special tape. Thus, to eliminate the movement of warm, moist air from the room into the insulation:
Which I have successfully done. Yes, yes, I know that I am "Rukopop" and there is no need to blame me for this, life is like that, you cannot know everything and it is impossible to keep track of everything. But you need to strive for this!
