Fifteen years ago, I installed a very convenient thing in the bathroom - a thermostat mixer that provides a constant water temperature regardless of external factors. And then the end came to him: he flowed.
I had a Grohe 2000 shower thermostat that had a diverter, spout and shower instead of a shower.
This whole structure successfully worked for ten years, and then the steel adapter broke in half from the mysterious Groev thread to 1/2.
I even called the Grohe representative then and asked how to buy this adapter. They said that the adapter cannot break, so it is not sold separately. :)
Yes, my load on it is much greater than intended (it was assumed that only the shower hose was connected to the mixer, and I have so much hanging on it).
A friend gave me a Grohe 1000 thermostat, I unscrewed exactly the same adapter from it and repaired my thermostat, and this donor thermostat lay for a long time and waited in the wings.
A month ago, from under the right tap that regulates the temperature, it began to drip. It was dripping more and more often, and lately drops have been falling a couple of times a second.
I got that new thermostat today and put it in my place. He never worked until today, even though he is already eight years old (found the release date - 2014).
The big minus of the new thermostat is that its "exit" is shifted to the left. I've already ordered a spout 2 inches longer, but that will put even more strain on that unfortunate steel adapter.
Now I’m thinking what to do with the old fifteen-year-old thermostat? Try to repair it or throw it away?
