In addition to a variety of fruit and vegetable and berry crops in my summer cottage, I set aside a place for edible mushrooms. It turns out that you can independently grow boletus, oyster mushrooms, boletus mushrooms, boletus, morels, boletus, if you provide suitable conditions.
Landing dates
I plant mycelium or spores in my free time for a long period, from May to October. Later breeding is dangerous due to the possibility of freezing.
Mycelium, also called mycelium, is the vegetative body of fungi. It consists of branched threads with a thickness of 1.5-10.5 microns. These are gifs. Mycelium develops both on the surface of the substrate and in its upper layers
The fruit body belongs to the reproductive part of fungi. It creates controversy.
Landing Rules
Before I grow mushrooms, I select a place for them, taking into account the natural conditions where they are found.
The composition of the soil, humidity, illumination, as well as tree species play a role, so it is useless to place mushrooms under fruit varieties.
I use mycelium for breeding, which I buy in specialized salons. If desired, you can independently dig up the mycelium in the forest.
For the preparation of the substrate I use forest soil. The role of additives is played by rotted leaves and moss, sawdust, chopped straw, wood dust.
Growing Features
Mushrooms grow well in my area. I can share some patterns that will help avoid mistakes:
- White mushrooms belonging to the genus Borovik grow near pines. I have young pine trees near the fence, where I transfer the mycelium. Emerging strong fungi are not in vain called royal. They have excellent taste.
- Aspen mushrooms (redheads) from the genus Obabok reproduce well by spores. I crush the fruiting body, soak it in cool water. After that, I dig shallowly into the ground. Despite the characteristic name, they grow not only under aspen, but under various deciduous trees.
- Honey mushrooms develop excellently on rotting tree trunks and rotten stumps. I usually cut off the part of the bark in the forest where the mycelium is, and transfer it to my site.
- Oilers require pine plantings to form mycorrhiza. These fungi prefer light, sandy, well-drained soils. I grow by transfer of mycelium.
- Morels are spring mushrooms. They can be planted anywhere. I propagate them with mushrooms.
- Mushrooms are not tied to specific vegetation. They thrive best in humus-rich or well-drained soil. Can be planted on rotting tree bark, rotted straw.
- Oyster mushrooms - wood-destroying fungi - saprophytes grow on deciduous trees that have withered or weakened. You can breed them on fallen trunks, collapsing stumps.
I prefer to grow mushrooms with mycelium purchased from trusted nurseries and stores.
Care
If the necessary conditions are created during planting, then special care for the mushrooms will not be required.
I control soil moisture. If it is too dry, I water it with settled water.
To stimulate growth and development, once a season I bring in well-rotted compost, scatter the ashes. I also use special means that stimulate growth processes.
Before the onset of winter cold weather, I warm the mycelium, covering it with a layer of dried foliage. You can put scraps of roofing material, slate, plywood. But in the spring it is important to remove them immediately after the snow melts.
Mushrooms growing in a summer cottage allow you to diversify the diet without requiring a lot of time when collecting. For breeding, you can purchase a ready-made mycelium or carefully dig out a part of the mycelium in the forest, trying not to damage nature.
