1. MAZ-7907
It is hardly possible to find a more impressive car in the history of the automotive industry of the Soviet Union than the MAZ-7907. This heavy rocket carrier was developed at SKB-1 of the Minsk Automobile Plant. Work on the project began in 1983. As a result, the designers are representatives of a 12-axle tractor weighing 65 tons. At the same time, the 7907th could lift up to 150 tons. It was planned that it would be used together with the Tselina-2 complexes. The truck was driven by a gas turbine engine with a return of 1200 hp. The VSG-625 generator fed 24 electric motors with a return of 30 kW.
2. Checkpoint-66
In some ways, this truck is similar to the GAZ-66, isn't it? In principle, this is the 66th. More precisely, from him in this car chassis. In fact, this is a prototype of a staff vehicle for the needs of the army. KPP-66 was created in case of an atomic war between the blocks. The van was sheathed in lead mats and synthetic panels to protect against radiation. The design of the machine made it possible to easily and quickly convert it from command to sanitary. In 1974, the KPP-66 successfully passed the tests, but never entered the series.
3. Ural-379P
The Ural-379P truck was developed in 1970 specifically by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Soviet Union. The car received an all-metal cab and was equipped with the latest advanced diesel engine 2E640 with a capacity of 200 horsepower. At the same time, for most of the design components, the vehicle was unified with the Ural-375 truck. The main feature of the 379 was that, thanks to a number of design solutions, the car could float. On the water, the Ural moved thanks to two propellers. With a 4-ton ballast on the water, the car could accelerate to 6 km / h.
4. Ural-395P
Sibling of the Ural-379P truck described above. The Ural-395P was developed as part of the same order from the Ministry of Defense. As in the case of the 379th, the main feature of the car was the ability to move through the water along with the load. The truck was unified in most components with the Ural-375, while it had an additional axle, which made it possible to actually double the transported mass. The maximum load increased from 4 to 7 tons.

5. ZIL-135V
It will be difficult to find an even stranger Soviet truck than the ZIL-135V. The machine was developed in 1962 at the SKB ZIL. Actually, the most important and interesting thing in the car is the launcher installed on it for launching missiles. The launcher was in service until 1965, after which it was sent to the bins of the motherland, and soon they completely abandoned its use due to the development of rocket science.
If you want to know even more interesting things, then you should read about ZIL 130: Is it true that the legendary Soviet truck was "licked" from Western models.
