Friends, hello!
Today I will show you how I made a steampunk bottle decor. The decor is quite simple and not expensive in terms of materials. You can decorate any bottle with any drink inside.
The result is a brutal bottle, as if sheathed in metal, or rather copper, oxidized sheets. Any man will definitely like such a bottle if presented to him as a gift. And, after emptying, you can reuse it by pouring any drinks into it.
Materials that are needed:
- Drink bottle or empty;
- Thin foamiran (fom) 1 mm thick;
- Scissors, ruler, clerical knife, brush;
- Nail polish remover;
- PVA glue (carpentry or construction);
- Gears (from watches or others);
- Small screws, pieces of plastic, various rubbish;
- dry peas;
- Acrylic paints of different colors;
- Acrylic lacquer.
I don't know about you, but I really like the steampunk style. In this style, you can decorate anything and it will look great.
Step 1.
Foamiran cut into small pieces of different sizes.
Foamiran is better to use thin, not thicker than 1 mm. It is very convenient to work with it, it is easy to stick on the bottle. With a thick one it will be much more difficult.
Step 2
The bottle was thoroughly cleaned with nail polish remover. This is in order to degrease it and so that the PVA glue grabs better.
Step 3
I smeared it with glue on a bottle and began to glue pieces of foamiran. It is worth gluing so that the seams are scattered, and not in one row. Where there were large gaps and gaps, I glued the pieces right on top of the first layer.
I glued the whole bottle and also the cap. Left it to dry for an hour or two.
Here is what I got at this stage of work.
Step 4
Now it's time to glue the gears, screws, pieces of plastic and other rubbish. You can use a lot of things for decor, just turn on your imagination.
All this was glued to PVA.
He covered the gears with pieces of foamiran.
Step 5
We take dry peas and select the halves more evenly. These will be rivets that are glued to the same PVA.
Leave the bottle for 1 hour until the glue dries a little.
Step 6
I painted the whole bottle with black acrylic paint and left it for 2 hours until the paint was completely dry.
Then, using the “dry brush” method, I walked with dark brown paint.
Then I used coffee color.
I painted it just a little with a dirty green paint, as if the copper had oxidized.
And the very last layer was painted with bronze paint, also using the “dry brush” method.
Step 7
Carefully covered the bottle with acrylic varnish for 2 layers. Now it can be wiped with a damp cloth or washed gently in cold water.
The bottle is ready, you can give!
