Today I want to introduce you to a relatively young, but already popular tomato variety called Buffalo Heart. The shape and size of the fruit is fully consistent with the name.

General characteristics of the variety
The determinant variety is characterized by medium ripening terms. The first fruits can be harvested after a hundred days. In the open ground, the bushes stretch up to 80 centimeters. In greenhouse conditions, the bush is able to grow to a height of 1.8 meters. Up to 6 fruits can be tied on one brush.
Due to the same resistance to both dry weather and low temperatures, the variety can be successfully grown in regions with any climatic conditions.
Large raspberry fruits with good agricultural technology can reach a weight of a kilogram. The peel is thin, but at the same time strong. The fleshy pulp has very few seeds. The pleasant sweet taste of tomatoes allows them to be consumed fresh or used as an ingredient in cooking.
You can harvest throughout the summer. From one bush you can collect up to ten kilograms of ripe fruits.
Among the main positive features of the variety, I would note:
- ease of care and resistance to all weather conditions;
- good natural immunity;
- excellent seed germination;
- long and abundant fruiting;
- excellent taste characteristics.
Like any other variety, Buffalo Heart is not without flaws, but in my opinion there are few of them:
- fruits are difficult to use for canning;
- if nutritional supplements are not applied in a timely manner, the tomatoes will shrink.
Sowing seeds for seedlings
Seedlings, of course, can be purchased ready-made, but I prefer to grow them with my own hands. Seeds can also be bought or collected by yourself.
To grow strong and healthy seedlings, follow a series of consistent steps:
- First you need to prepare the soil. The variety loves nutritious and loose soils. If you do not want to work on mixing the components, a ready-made balanced substrate can be purchased at any garden center. If you still decide to prepare the soil yourself, adhere to the following proportions: two parts of peat, part of garden soil, part of sand and half a share of humus. It is good to additionally add complex fertilizers with a high content of potassium and phosphorus. The prepared soil must be disinfected. Vermiculite can be added to loosen the soil.
- Choose the right time to sow the seeds. It is worth starting sowing a couple of months before moving young plants into open ground. The first shoots can be expected in about a week. As soon as a pair of full-fledged leaves is formed, you can start picking.
- Choose suitable growing containers. Before picking for seeds, it is worth picking up boxes or trays with a side height of at least eight centimeters. For dived seedlings, it is convenient to use peat pots.
- Seeds should be properly prepared before planting. To begin with, it is worth carefully sorting out the material and selecting the appropriate ones. Seeds should be kept in salt water, as a result of which the best seeds will sink to the bottom. They are what we need for sowing. Further, the seeds should be disinfected by keeping in a manganese solution.
- It is enough to sow seeds in grooves up to one and a half centimeters deep.
In the future, provide full care for the seedlings until they are transplanted to a permanent place. Good luck and great harvests!
