Tomato King of Siberia was brought out by Russian breeders relatively recently, and now it is undergoing a phase of recognition and approval. Now let's talk about what the variety can please and what are the features of plant cultivation.
Variety characteristics
Tomato is indeterminate, intended for growing in greenhouse conditions and in an open garden.
The King of Siberia has the following characteristics:
- plant height about 1.5-1.8 m, needs a garter;
- can bear fruit in cold climates;
- tomatoes ripen in 100-115 days;
- maple-shaped leaves;
- the bush requires shaping;
- tomatoes weighing up to 300-500 g, the color is bright yellow or orange, the shape of the fruit is heart-shaped;
- sweet taste with a pleasant aroma;
- the surface is smooth, with the presence of gloss;
- productivity is high;
- the plant resists diseases and pests;
- tomatoes are hypoallergenic.
Advantages and disadvantages
The advantages include:
- develops well both in the greenhouse and in the open area;
- fruits endure transportation over distances;
- tomatoes can be canned, consumed fresh.
The disadvantages of the variety are minor:
- fruit size depends on weather conditions;
- the plant must be watered in a timely and plentiful manner;
- Tomatoes are not suitable for canning as a whole.
Growing seedlings
Seedlings are recommended to be grown independently.
Purchased seeds should be used, since the collected ones are not suitable for further cultivation.
To prepare the substrate you need to take:
- garden soil, humus and compost 1/3 bucket each;
- fine sand (1 kg);
- ash powder (0.5 kg);
- superphosphate and ammonium nitrate (50 g each).
The soil is mixed, disinfected with a manganese solution.
Any containers for planting are taken: plastic, wooden. You can use peat cups or tablets.
Before sowing, the seeds are disinfected in a solution of potassium permanganate for 15 minutes, washed and put in damp gauze, then placed in a warm place.
Seeds are sown in a container with soil, covered with oilcloth and taken out to a warm place.
Watering the sprouts is carried out as needed, as soon as the soil dries out. Top dressing is applied in the form of liquid fertilizers, which contain potassium and phosphorus.
Before planting in a permanent place, the seedlings are hardened, taking out the container with the sprouts to fresh air.
Transplanting seedlings
After about 55-65 days, the seedlings are planted in light nutrient soil. The place must be lit.

Caring for tomato bushes is the most common:
- Watering. The variety needs rare but plentiful watering, at least three times a week. The liquid must be settled.
- Fertilizing. Plants are fed with organic matter (manure, droppings) and mineral products containing phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen. Top dressing should be combined with irrigation once every 30 days.
- Land care. It is necessary to carry out loosening and weeding in a timely manner.
- Garter and bush shaping. The plant is formed into two stems, removing side branches. The variety requires a garter, as weighty tomatoes incline the bush to the ground.

Ripe vegetables are harvested in August-September. They are used for conservation and for the preparation of various dishes.
The usual cultivation conditions, unpretentiousness in care, a fairly generous yield and excellent taste properties of tomatoes help the King of Siberia variety to increase its popularity among summer residents. The first tasty tomatoes can be tasted four months after planting and enjoy good fruiting until late autumn.
