After planting the seedlings in the greenhouse, it is necessary to provide her with full care in accordance with all the rules of agricultural technology. Otherwise, the likelihood of developing various diseases and the death of plantings is high.

Transplanting

Tomato seedlings, ready for transplantation, have a healthy appearance and a developed root system. Their height is from 20 to 35 cm, the volume of the trunk is about 1 cm, the presence of 6-10 main leaves is mandatory.

Landing should not be carried out on areas where nightshade crops grew last season. The best predecessors will be onions, cucumbers, carrots, legumes, cabbage.

Digging up the beds, I introduce complex fertilizers into the soil. In the process of planting, I keep the distance necessary for each variety in order to avoid thickened plantings that contribute to the appearance of root rot.

I plant seedlings in the evening or in cloudy weather to avoid scorching sunlight. I carefully remove the bushes from the planting containers, transfer them to the prepared holes along with the earthen clod. The depth of the holes depends on the height of the seedlings, I deepen the seedlings to the cotyledon leaves. Tomatoes grown in peat pots (tablets) are buried in the ground along with them.

After transplanting all the bushes, I spend abundant watering. I pour about 4 liters of water under each bush, preventing moisture from getting on the leaves.

Greenhouse care

For the first 36 hours, I carefully monitor the condition of the transplanted tomatoes. If they react negatively to direct sunlight, I provide shading. Tall varieties can be tied up as early as 12 days after planting.

Watering

The first 5 days after transplanting the seedlings, the plants do not need additional irrigation. This is the time of their full rooting. After this period, I spend moisturizing as soon as the topsoil dries. I recommend building a drip irrigation system - it is ideal for tomatoes.

An example irrigation scheme looks like this:

  • 7 days after planting and before flowering - 3 liters of liquid for each bush in 1-2 days;
  • flowering time - 5 liters of water 1-2 times a week;
  • the appearance of fruits - 2 times a week, 5 liters;
  • fruit ripening - 1 time per week for 3 liters.

To avoid rapid evaporation of moisture, I recommend mulching the soil around the tomatoes. As mulch, you can use compost, straw, wood, but not coniferous sawdust.

After abundant watering, leave open the windows in the greenhouse. This will get rid of the condensate, which leads to fungal diseases.

top dressing

The frequency of fertilization depends entirely on the appearance and condition of the plants. The minimum number of dressings is 3 for the entire season. But weakened, ill, stunted and other "problem" bushes need more frequent use of fertilizers.

I spend the first dressing on the 10th day after planting the seedlings in the greenhouse. I use a mixture of mullein (0.5 l) and nitrophoska (15 ml), diluted in 10 l of water. Under each bush it is necessary to pour 0.5 liters.

21 days after the first procedure, I fertilize the tomatoes again. I use 400 g of chicken manure, 1 tbsp. l. superphosphate, 1 tsp. l. potassium sulfate dissolved in 10 liters of water. Each plant needs 1 liter of this solution.

After 14 days I make the third top dressing. For her, I mix 15 g of nitrophoska and 15 ml of potassium humate, dissolve the mixture in 10 liters of water.
