Variety Description

A heat-loving variety that requires greenhouse cultivation when grown in cold climates. It does not tolerate shade at all, it is necessary to grow exclusively in sunny areas.

Differs in high productivity and good keeping quality, it is steady against fungal diseases. It belongs to the group of hot peppers, but a certain sweetness is felt in its taste, which makes Tsitsak suitable for preparing salads and pickling.

The height of the bushes does not exceed 80 cm. The stems are strong, the leaves are green, elongated, pointed at the edges. The fruits are cone-shaped, rather fleshy. The mass of one pepper is from 30 to 50 g, length - 15-25 cm.

cultivation

I grow Tsitsak by seedling method. First of all, I check the seeds for suitability for sowing. To do this, I lower them into a glass of water, after 15 minutes I throw out the floating specimens, which have sunk to the bottom, I prepare for landing. I shift the seeds into a gauze bag, and dip it into an intense pink solution of manganese for 20 minutes. After I wash the seeds in a bag under running water.

Store-bought seedling soil is suitable for growing peppers, but you can also mix the soil yourself. This will require sand, earth, peat, humus in equal proportions. For every 10 liters of the mixture, add 1 tsp. superphosphate. Self-prepared soil needs to be disinfected.

I sow the seeds at the end of February, to a depth of no more than 1 cm. I plant them in separate cups so as not to subsequently injure the roots with a pick. I moisten the soil with a spray gun, cover with a film. During the day I maintain the temperature at + 25 ° С, at night - + 15 ° С. After the emergence of shoots, I remove the film.

I water every 2 days, the soil at the seedlings should be moist, but not overly flooded with water. Water should be separated and at room temperature. Two weeks after germination, I water the bores with a biofungicide.

As soon as Tsitsak releases the 3rd main leaf, I feed him with mineral fertilizers containing superphosphate, ammonia, and potassium.

Landing and care

I land on the beds no earlier than mid-May. By this time, the seedlings have time to fully take shape, and the soil warms up.

I transplant bushes keeping a clod of earth on the root system. The distance between the bushes is 25 cm, between the rows - 50 cm. I water the seedlings immediately after planting. In the future, watering spend 2-3 times a week. I monitor the condition of the soil, and do not allow it to dry out. I carry out the irrigation procedure in the evening.

Every week I apply organic fertilizers to the soil, once every 2 weeks I use potassium-phosphorus compounds.

When growing Tsitsak, one should not forget about the obligatory loosening of the soil. During the period of active growth, it is required to loosen the soil around the bushes at least 5 times. At the same time, during the flowering period, the loosening depth is 10 cm, the period of ovary formation is 15 cm, and the fruiting stage is 20 cm.

To obtain high yields, it is required to form bushes. As soon as the bush begins to divide into separate branches, I remove the buds that have appeared in the branching so that the plant is able to grow new branches.

Proper cultivation of Tsitsak pepper, and proper care for it, will allow you to get a rich harvest of fruits that can be dried, pickled, fermented, salted, used fresh.
