I love pickles - juicy, crispy, tart. But somehow I got a jar and oh, horror - brine in it muddy! Then I notably frightened, but as it turned out, was no reason for panic. Today I will share with you the experience of "saving" from the muddy cucumber brine.

Causes turbidity brine

The reasons, as always, lie in our carelessness or inattention during pickling vegetables. Well, or in the wrong salting technology.

Main reasons:

  • poorly sterilized jars: within them are harmful bacteria that cause fermentation product;
  • not washed vegetables: even tiny lump of dirt on one cucumber may cause damage to the entire bank;
  • use of sea / iodized salt: it is believed that the salt is not suitable for zasolok and leads to fermentation;
  • loosely rolled up cover: purchase quality cover and use a good tool, because if air contamination - the product is missing;

  • insufficient amount of citric acid / vinegar: impossible without these ingredients long product storage;

How to save the day

To keep the cucumbers, you need to replace the clouded brine. We are doing it this way:

  • Merge turbid solution.
  • Cucumbers wash.
  • Cook the new brine or old boil for at least 5 minutes.
  • Pour the cucumber roll up the jar and put on the floor upside down.
  • Chilled jar clean the cellar / fridge.

If the brine is turbid immediately after rolling up, I leave the banks in a cool place and watch it settles or not. Typically, the water becomes transparent after 3-7 days. If after this the brine is still cloudy and the cover is not swollen, you can use the pickles in different dishes.

If you dimmed cucumbers in a jar - do not worry, still far from the end of the world. It can be fixed.
